Nautical Garden Wedding at The Westmoor Club

February 25, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Classic-Preppy-Nantucket-Wedding-Gina-Brocker-Photography (13 of 30)

Nantucket weddings are known for their classically preppy styling, and Kate and Kevin’s wedding at The Westmoor Club elevates the look with a timeless English cottage garden theme. The lovely couple achieved their dream wedding by pairing traditionally nautical elements like adorable striped bridesmaids dresses and compass motifs with a vintage-inspired lace gown and roses so fresh you can smell them from here. Gina Brocker Photography skillfully picked up on these well-planned details, while also capturing the beautifully candid moments that made Kate and Kevin’s wedding so special.

The Couple:

Kate and Kevin

The Wedding:

The Westmoor Club, Nantucket, Massachusetts

The Inspiration:

My vision for our wedding was the marriage of seaside prep meets English cottage garden. I wanted my wedding fashion to be timeless and classy. Since we chose Nantucket, this came naturally. I really wanted to let the island charm shine through without being overtly “nautical” I chose a color palate of navy and peach with accents of antique silver and gold. We wanted the wedding to be relaxed and fun with the focus being time spent with our loved ones on a paradise island.

We knew we wanted a venue that would feel cozy and intimate that was brimming with character and charm. As soon as we visited The Westmoor Club, we knew we found “the one.” We already knew we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony on site, and the club was perfectly situated to accommodate this. The Club House is a restored mansion – originally Alice Vanderbilt’s home in 1917- that suited our taste to a T and the grounds of the club really lent itself to the garden feel with it’s boxwood hedges and garden terrace.

The Moments:

During the ceremony, our dog kept “talking” to us. In many pictures I am laughing and looking back at her — it was unbelievably sweet and cute. It was like she knew the importance of what was happening and she wanted to be a part of it. She certainly was!

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographer Gina was a dream to work with. She was beyond professional, responsive and so wonderful to simply be around.

Sunset Anniversary Session with C&I Studios

February 25, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

One-Year-Anniversary-CandI-Studios (19 of 28)

It’s a beautiful thing when a couple and their wedding photographer form a lifelong relationship built on celebrating love, year after year. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to share the one year anniversary session from one of our favorite Junebug couples, Kimmi and Chad.  You may remember their St. Lucia wedding we published last summer, which was so beautifully captured by C&I Studios. When Justin of C&I Studios sent over Kimmi and Chad’s sunset anniversary session, we knew you would love it as much as we do. The golden light, lush forest greenery, and brilliant photography skills of C&I Studios all did the stylish couple justice in celebrating their first marriage anniversary.

Forest Wedding in South Africa

February 25, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Forest-Wedding-South-Africa-Kikitography (33 of 44)

Elegance and glamour may not be the most obvious ways to describe a forest, but Daniella and Nathan’s wedding showcases most beautifully the romantic elements nature has to offer. From her tiered lace dress to her protea-centered bouquet, Daniella’s bridal style perfectly complemented her rustic surroundings. Kikitography captured the dreamy effortlessness of the forest wedding, including the cozy reception hall, which was decorated from floor to ceiling with rustic elements.

The Couple:

Daniella and Nathan

The Wedding:

Florence Guest Farm, Mpumalanga, South Africa

The Inspiration:

The theme of our wedding was one of simplicity with a casual rustic elegance. It involved stripping the wedding bells and whistles in favor of organic inspired decor to match the nostalgic romance of the forest. The rustic wedding chic attire matched the light-hearted fun we wanted on our wedding day.

As if these still images weren’t enough, we’re lucky enough to have the wedding film from Daniella and Nathan’s incredible forest wedding, as captured by Bravo&Thatcher
