Jewish Wedding at Linden Terrace in Fort Tryon Park

Jewish-Wedding-Linden-Terrace-Fort-Tyron-Park-Ahmet-Ze (34 of 39)

Fashion-forward, personal, and quirky are all words you could use to describe Alyssa and Zach’s New York City Jewish wedding. The couple exchanged vows at Linden Park in Fort Tryon Park, surrounded by flowers, succulents, and loved ones. Bride Alyssa wore a stunning blush Austin Scarlett gown that set an untraditional tone for the fun day. We can’t get enough of the reception decor, which was inspired by their pets: a pug and a cockatiel. Ahmet Ze beautifully captured all of the details and action as Alyssa and Zach celebrated their fabulous NYC wedding.

The Couple:

Alyssa and Zach

The Wedding:

Fort Tryon Park, New York, New York

The Inspiration:

If we had to sum it up in two words, I suppose they would be “animals and colors.” We love pugs (Zach is a recent convert to the pug love club) and at the time, we had a pet cockatiel, Luanne a.k.a. Lulu (she has since passed away). We liked the idea of having those feathered/fur family members influence some of the decor (e.g. the chair signs, table numbers, imprint on the inside of the yarmulkes). We also wanted it to be as colorful as possible to match the summer season and the overall feelings of happiness that accompany a wedding. Regarding fashion, Zach has always had his own unique style, especially when it comes to formal wear – he wore what he calls an “independently curated leisure suit” to his senior prom! For me, I always had an inkling that I might wear a color other than white to my wedding but pink was not on my radar. Being a redhead, people have told me all my life that “redheads can wear any color but pink.” This dress (which actually comes in a rainbow of other colors, in case any brides-to-be reading this article are looking for a gown in a color other than white) gave me a new found appreciation for the color. I put it on and was like “Whatevah, I do what I want” (Yes, my spirit animal is Eric Cartman).

The Moments:

The first look! I had driven myself coo-coo after eight months of nonstop wedding planning, so I was a bit anxious on the morning of the wedding about the logistical aspects of the day (I mean, at that point, everything was out of my control anyway, haha). When I saw Zach in his super cool sea foam green suit, all of that nervousness dissipated because I knew that it would be an amazing day no matter what.

Spring Wedding in Austria

March 21, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Spring-Wedding-in-Austria (25 of 27)

After choosing an Austrian vineyard for their wedding for its natural scenery and seclusion from the city, Melanie and Matthias let their personalities shine with bright colors throughout the décor and floral arrangements of their wedding. Photographer Thomas Steibl captured all of the quirky details and special moments from their spring wedding in Austria.

The Couple:

Melanie and Matthias

The Wedding:

Weingut Holler, Spielfeld, Austria

The Inspiration:

We wanted our big day to be a laid-back celebration of love and happiness — nothing utterly fancy or formal. That’s why we chose a vineyard in the very South of Austria for the occasion, far away from busy city life and full of nature, verdant hills and quietness. We had quite a few friends coming for the wedding from all corners of Europe, so we decided to mix some local traditions with our own personal taste and quirkiness. And from the very beginning we refused to pin ourselves down to just two or three wedding colors. So while the location was quite rustic, we brought in lots of color with flowers and decoration items. The most important sense of inspiration was our guests. Whenever somebody would ask us what to wear, we would say, “No matter what, just make it colorful!”

The Moments:

Looking back we couldn’t possibly decide what our favorite part was. Matthias definitely loved how Melanie surprised him by taking his last name after all. We both loved how our band surprisingly played our favorite song during the ceremony. We loved how our guests were going all nuts with the photobooth and that the guestbook still makes us laugh out loud. We loved how many of our friends spent the whole weekend with us tucked away in the countryside. We were so lucky altogether – the sun was shining, everybody was dancing like crazy, laughing and enjoying themselves until dawn. For us, this was true bliss in itself.

The Couple Recommends:

Our wedding planner Verena Kindermann deserves a mention here because she really went out of her way to help us plan every little detail of our wedding. Having only about seven months to plan and what felt like hundreds of decisions to take she helped us find out what we truly wanted and supported us all the way to this wonderful wedding day.

Classic Orange Wedding at The Old Mill

March 21, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Classic-Orange-Wedding-at-The-Old-Mill (21 of 36)

Before their wedding ceremony, Chiara and Gerry shared a special moment at Irish pub Sligo while relaxing with a glass of Guinness. By the time the ceremony came around, friends and family were gathered in a beautiful garden at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania.  Sunflowers and light pink florals dressed the aisle leading to a beautiful wooden arch that was covered in natural vines. Pops of orange brightened the bride’s bouquet and made other arrivals around the venue. Pat Robinson Photography expertly captured the new moments the couple spent as husband and wife.

The Couple:

The Wedding:

The Inspiration:

Vintage but classic–our bridal party all wore gray, but we used in pops of orange and other colors as well as metallic colors.

Our first look–outside of Sligo in Media. Our closest friends in our bridal party all stood inside Sligo and watched so just by chance we were able to share that special moment with them as well. We all had a Guinness before we went to the ceremony!
