5 Spring Wedding Color Palette Ideas

March 20, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Spring weddings have been filling our inbox faster than the temperatures are warming up, and we can’t help but feel inspired by all the pretty color palettes we’re seeing! As the flowers begin to bloom through the melting snow, we see more and more beautiful weddings with punchy pinks, lush greenery, and dreamy pastels. These spring wedding color palettes will help you envision the day of your dreams in hues you truly love!

1. Coral, Aqua, and Navy – This punchy palette gives the old complementary colors orange and blue a fresh update by using a more pink-toned shade alongside a light, bright aqua and a crisp navy for contrast. This palette works especially well for preppy nautical weddings and rustic backyard soirees.

2. Lavender and Sage – If simple, subtle, and natural are your guide words for your wedding day, consider a lavender and sage color palette. From bouquets of eucalyptus leaves to bunches lavender petals for guests to throw as you make your way down the aisle, this palette is as easy to pull off as it is beautiful. For a modern take on the palette, add purple and green succulents to your centerpieces or give them out as favors!

3. Pink, Coral, and Green – For a wedding that is quintessentially spring, a choose a palette of pink, coral, and green. This palette is effortless to pull off because you’re able to use your favorite flowers as a focal point, whether they’re peonies, dahlias, or garden roses. Fill small vases on your reception tables with single stems or create a ceremony arch out of wild leaves and pretty pink petals.

4. Green, Ivory, and Navy – For a wedding look that is both classic and earthy, go with green and ivory accented by navy details. The natural arrangement of green and ivory appears pure and organic, while the navy adds a level of chic contrast. We love the idea of adding berries to your bouquet or cake for a pop of blue against the ivory and green!

5. Blue and Yellow – This color palette is incredibly versatile in that it can be used for any wedding style: nautical, bohemian, über-chic, or backyard fun. Yellow and blue make for a clean starting place to accessorize your wedding with elements that are reflective of your personalities. We love the idea of shaking up your fashion choices with a blue wedding gown or yellow bridesmaids dresses!

Pastel Lankawi Island Wedding

March 20, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Ben Yew Photography

After falling in love with her best friend, Allison envisioned a simple intimate ceremony that would allow her and Saimeng to exchange personally written vows. The couple’s sweet, relaxing island wedding ceremony at the Four Season Langkawi Resort soon turned into an incredible elegant Great Gatsby themed reception. Allison wore a blush pink sequined dress and birdcage veil, which perfectly resembled the book. Candles, pearls, tall ostrich feathers, and soft pink and white flowers dressed the tables at The Danna Langkawi Hotel to fully complete the look. Ben Yew Photography beautifully captured the breathtaking moments the couple spent on their big day.

The Couple:

Allison and Saimeng

The Wedding:

The Danna Langkawi Hotel, Langkawi Island

The Inspiration:

For the morning ceremony, we went with an au naturale theme to complement the sandy white beach by the Andaman Sea. I wore a classic white wedding dress and Saimeng wore a fitted navy blue suit when we exchanged our personal vows. For the evening reception, we kicked it up a notch and had a full blast Great Gatsby Theme Reception by the Beach! We were very much inspired by The Danna Hotel’s colonial style, and had so much fun watching our guests arriving in their best Gatsby outfit. Myself, I wore a sparkling sequined dress in blush pink complete with a birdcage veil, while SaiMeng was decked out in his best black Tuxedo. Our color theme was inspired by vintage Gatsby with cream, pink and gold. Our wedding planners also did a great job adorning the dinner tables with tall ostrich feathers, pearls, elaborate votive candles, beautiful flowers and tiffany chairs. I absolutely loved the black and white checkered dance floor with hanging chandelier that they arranged for us too! :)

The Moments:

It was really special when we had our First Dance to “Can’t Get My Eyes Off You” in front of our close friends and family members, and then surprising them with an amazing 2-minutes fireworks display right after our dance! There are no words to describe the moment, it was simply magical :)

The Couple Recommends:

I would highly recommend my photographer, Ben Yew and wedding live painter, Nataliya Tyaglo. Ben Yew was the most enthusiastic, professional and talented photographer, his affable personality was a great pleasure to work with on our big day! His work also has a dreamy tint which I absolutely love for wedding photography :) Nataliya’s artwork is simply one of a kind, you have to view it for yourself. I highly recommend her to any wedding couples who likes the idea of immortalizing their wedding moment on a canvas art. We now have two gorgeous museum-worthy canvas pieces in our living room, very much thanks to her!

Whimsical Elopement in the Blue Ridge Mountains

March 19, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

After deciding to forgo a traditional proposal, Hannah and Ryan chose to elope in the Blue Ridge Mountains, wanting to maintain focus on their love and togetherness above all else. Inviting along only their two wedding professionals, Betty Clicker Photography and officiant Dave Norris, the couple exchanged handwritten vows and explored the vast nature around them. To end the evening, Hannah and Ryan shared a picnic in the forest with a two-person wedding cake and fresh strawberries.

The Couple:

Hannah and Ryan

The Wedding:

Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia

The Inspiration:

We eloped so that we could have a simple ceremony and stress-free day that celebrated us, so that’s what inspired most of our choices. We were eloping in the mountains, which required a bit of a walk through the woods, so practicality was also a factor when picking out our outfits!

The Moments:

The moments right after we read our vows! It was such a surreal, happy feeling to know that we had done it, we were married!

The Couple Recommends:

The only professionals we hired were our photographer, Kate Thompson of Betty Clicker, and our officiant, Dave Norris. Both were incredibly flexible with our somewhat crazy elopement plan – we couldn’t have asked for better people to share our day with. We’d recommend them both based on both their personalities and their services!

The Wedding Team:

Officiant – Dave Norris

Congrats to Hannah and Ryan on their big day, and thanks to Betty Clicker Photography for sharing such special images with Junebug! For more elopement inspiration, check out Emily and Marcus’ romantic elopement in Italy.
