Fun Lebanese Wedding Outdoors

June 27, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Fun-Lebanese-Wedding-Outdoors (21 of 24)

Aiming for a slightly untraditional Lebanese wedding, Romy and Nassib wished to create an outdoorsy, casual wedding day. Exposed wood tables, glass jars filled with wild flowers, and colorfully lit trees created the perfect dinner party oasis at Tanit in Lebanon. Our favorite part of this incredibly fun wedding was when amazing photographer Abi Neda Riley swept the couple away from the crowd to shoot some beautiful photos of the new husband and wife on the beach.

The Couple:

Romy and Nassib

The Wedding:

Tanit, Lebanon

The Inspiration:

We wanted our wedding to be as far away  as possible from the typical Lebanese wedding since they are always a bit over the top for our taste. We wanted something that felt more outdoorsy, casual, rustic, and hip all at the same time. Basically, it was a backyard dinner type of wedding.

The Moments:

During our first dance, I wasn’t very focused on what was going on around us, and then somewhere in the middle, I turned around and saw all of our friends and family standing around the dance floor with sparklers in their hands, smiling and moving along with the music. It was really beautiful and heart warming to see that.

The Couple Recommends:

To be honest, we were extremely lucky with all of our suppliers, and we really can’t thank them enough for all their help and generous spirits. Marianne and Jad at Tanit are the most pleasant and cool people we have met. Le Blanc Catering did an amazing job handling the delicious food, dessert buffet, venue decoration and flowers. Andre from The Bartist is an amazing person, so kind and helpful. People kept asking for his cocktail recipes for weeks after our wedding. JLP were simply awesome, everyone and I mean EVERYONE loved them, young and old, and they were all dancing and requesting songs. Mind you, the jams that The Inse(K)t played afterwards kept everyone up and dancing till the end of the night. And finally Keith and Neda, well they almost stole our spotlight. Everyone kept telling us how nice and fun they were at the wedding and then when the pictures were out, they were all in awe at how beautiful the pictures were.

Washington Farm Wedding at Barnstar Events

June 27, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Washington-Farm-Wedding-at-Barnstar-Events (10 of 40)

Having recently moved to Washington from New York, Tawny and Cate were excited to design an outdoor wedding away from the busy lifestyle of NYC. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple exchanged vows at a Buddhist ceremony. The reception at Barnstar Events was filled with raw earthy tones, exposed wood, and a delicious pie table! We love how the hint of mint green in the decor and favors added a light, fresh take to this beautiful outdoor wedding. Making sure not to miss a single moment, Sarah Postma Photography captured lovely photos of the couple on their big day!

The Couple:

Tawny and Cate

The Wedding:

Barnstar Events, Ferndale, Washington

The Inspiration:

After living in New York City for so long, we were really looking forward to having an outdoor relaxed Washington wedding. We really wanted the natural farmland surrounding to play a big part in the décor. Tawny is super into design and color so she was all about making mood boards for everything. I think both of our outfits had vintage inspiration with a touch of bling. Tawny fell in love with the texture of her dress right away. Cate’s outfit was a little harder to piece together. She ended up wearing her mother’s vintage silk pant, amazing gold shoes and a custom vest that Tawny designed and finished with gold leather straps. We wanted the wedding party to be cohesive but for each person’s individual style to shine through. We gave our wedding party a color palette, and they took it from there. One of the best parts was seeing everyone’s outfits in-person for the first time right before the ceremony. It was like 10 first looks in one day.

The Moments:

We had just moved from New York to Seattle a few months before the wedding. We were super happy to be spending more time with family, but we were really missing our New York friends. For both of us, it was so amazing to look around and see our family and friends from across the country connecting, having a great time and celebrating us. We also had a killer buddhist ceremony.

The Couple Recommends:

As soon as we were engaged, the first vendor we booked was Sarah Postma Photography. We have both admired her work and knew we had to have her. Posing for photos with her always seemed so natural, not a chore, but fun. I have a really big family and she was SO good at organizing everyone quickly and getting great shots. Her style is natural, her compositions are unique and beautiful. We can’t recommend her enough!

Wildlife Inspired Wedding at Three Points Ranch

June 26, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Wildlife-Inspired-Wedding-at-Three-Points-Ranch (23 of 37)

Both working in the wildlife conservation industry, Anna and Cole decided to incorporate their passion for nature into their outdoor rustic wedding at Three Points Ranch in Round Mountain, Texas. Tree trunks dressed in wild flowers worked as a wedding arch, perfectly outlining the couple as they exchanged vows. Rich pink and red bridesmaid gowns added bold color to the nature inspired wedding decor. Nicely tying the wedding all together, Photo by Betsy beautifully captured the love between the couple on their big day!

The Couple:

Anna and Cole

The Wedding:

Three Points Ranch, Round Mountain, Texas

The Inspiration:

Cole and I both went to school for Wildlife and Fisheries Science. We both work in the wildlife/conservation industry, so it was only natural that it would influence our wedding. We grew up in cities, but live on a ranch, and we are both country people at heart so being married on a ranch was the only option for us. And color. I’m and artist so I love color, there would be no soft pink and white flowers for me. Everything had to be bold and red and bright!

The Moments:

The blessing of the hands during the ceremony. Cole‘s best friend married us so having him bless us and read those words just really touched us both. When he got to the part about “hands wrinkled with age”, all three of us choked up. It was an amazing moment. Cole and I planned the whole ceremony together, so that was really the most special part of the day for us. But the whole wedding was full of personal touches, and a lot of DIY.

The Couple Recommends:

Honestly, every vendor I used did and outstanding job. But, of course I would recommend Besty Lackey, my photographer, and the ladies from Pearl Events, who kept me sane that day!
