Elegant Museum Wedding in Pennsylvania

Elegant-Museum-Wedding-in-Pennsylvania (5 of 35)

Having a passion for Egyptian culture and history, Simara and Christopher decided the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology was the perfect venue to host their whimsical wedding in Pennsylvania. Dark and bright orange, yellow, and deep purple florals dressed the tables and bouquets. The natural wedding arbor built from twigs and florals was the centerpiece of the ceremony, drawing the guests eyes to the couple as they exchanged their vows. Meg Brock Photography expertly captured the precious moments at this gorgeous museum wedding.

The Couple:

Simara and Christopher

The Wedding:

University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Inspiration:

Chris and I both have a passion for learning new things so we spent much of our time on “educational” dates (as some friends and family call it) such as museums and tours of historical monuments. When we started considering venues we knew we wanted to get married someplace we would actually spend our time and give our guests a peak inside our world. Being that we both had a passion for Ancient Egyptian culture and history, we knew instantly that the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology was the perfect venue for us.

We also love nature and being outdoors so we wanted our day to feel like a beautiful, colorful fall day. We wanted minimal flowers and really wanted to put an emphasis on what is so beautiful about being outdoors in the fall; the changing leaves. We went with grey dresses and tuxedos for the our bridal party because we thought it would be flattering for everyone and would also really allow the colors to pop in the bouquets and boutonnieres. Abnormally warm weather allowed us to have an outdoor, night ceremony at the end of October. Our day was just absolutely magical and was the perfect representation of the things Chris and I both love.

The Moments:

My favorite moment from the wedding was when Chris accidentally said “I do” before our officiant was finished speaking. It really gave everyone a great laugh which is fitting because one of my favorite things about him is that he is such a funny guy.

Bohemian Block Island Wedding

April 3, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Bohemian-Block-Island-Wedding (29 of 46)

The moment Kristin and Nick knew they found love was in the summer of 2005 on a trip to Block Island. Since it was the place to spark it all, years later the couple decided a Block Island wedding would be the perfect setting to exchange their vows. Embracing the breathtaking beach and all it has to offer, the couple decorated their private residence venue using pineapples as centerpieces and offering the guests personally designed towels. Chellise Michael Photography perfectly captured the effortless beauty of this bohemian wedding.

The Couple:

Kristin and Nick

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Block Island, Rhode Island

The Inspiration:

We have been vacationing on Block Island for years and its laid-back vibe is what set the mood for us. Our goal was to adapt traditions and ideas that only felt right for our style and story. I sketched my own dress design and created the graphics for the invitations, while Nick planned a seasonal custom menu. We wanted a cake made from scratch and assembled live, to celebrate the craft behind cake tradition, rather than a traditional cake. For décor, we chose to rent blooming plants and used 80 pineapples in place of cut flower arrangements. Hundreds of candles, 600ft of lights, sea glass vases, tiki torches, serapes from Tulum, our own paddle boards, macramé swings, hanging fern disco balls and white linens came together to create an eclectic seaside atmosphere. Despite the hard work installing it all ourselves, we wanted the actual event to feel effortless.

The Moments:

So many! The most random involved our super long hair. Before my Dad and I had started walking out I had twisted my hair back in a quick bun because of the wind. We walked out to ‘Intro’ by The XX and when we reached Nick in the circle, I sort of swung my head in an accidental boudoir type way and my hair was down. You could hear our guests – and Nick – let out a laugh as we looked at each other and knew we were doing all of this ‘our way.’ We held hands and locked eyes and the ceremony started. Then there was Nick, who mid-dance with his Mom, flung out of his manbun in an awesome crowd-pleasing highlight that brought a burst of energy to the only formal portion of the reception. These little unplanned moments and others, are what made for such an amazingly good time.

The Couple Recommends:

Chellise Michael Photography — we chose photographers who shoot expressively and were intuitively skilled at capturing moments. After seeing CMP’s work and meeting in their studio for all of an hour, we hired them before we had finalized the location. Chellise and Mike’s process is unobtrusive yet they bring naturally good energy — you want to be in front of their lens. They are workhorses and exceptionally passionate about the art of photography. Plus they are just darn good people. We were honored to have them as part of our fondest memories from that day.

Romantic Floral Wedding Inspiration at The Garden Chateau

April 3, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Carolina Quinces

Playing with textures and romantic spring colors, Sophia’s Art Photography collaborated with an incredible team to put together an Italian, floral driven styled shoot.  The rich color palette of dark red, pink, and sage green combined perfectly with the silver vases and gold flatware. The brick walls of The Garden Chateau in Winter Garden, Florida added yet another dimension to the this gorgeous, intricate design.

Here’s a little insight about the shoot from Marjorie of Sophia’s Art Photography:

Sparkling candelabras, gorgeous flowers, blush and gold details were just some of the inspiring elements for this classic, Italian styled shoot. The timeless stonework and intimate atmosphere of The Garden Chateau served as the perfect setting for a shoot that brings to mind a romantic holiday in Tuscany. Rebekkah from Runway Events collaborated with Molly from Cloud 9 to design lush arrangements of ranunculus and roses. Celeste from Krustallos Bridal Couture designed the elegant wedding gown, which was complimented by the hair design of Victoria McPhee from McPhee Studios and makeup from Amanda Wolf of Bella con Stile’. The beautiful stationery featured the intricate handiwork of Shelly from Company Forty Two. The enchanting tableau, vivid florals and luxurious atmosphere in this styled shoot captured by Marjorie and Nicholas from Sophia’s Art Photography will evoke the classical elegance and alluring charm of Via Tuscany.
