Claire and Cameron’s Barr Mansion wedding in Austin combines the swanky glamour of The Great Gatsby with their adorable personalities and stellar sense of humor. The emotional wedding ran the gamut from holding back tears during first looks to giggling through the ceremony. In a unique and incredibly special twist, the newlyweds sneaked away to break bread privately before returning for portraits with their wedding party. Photographer David Le so beautifully captured these intimate moments, along with the stunning 1920s inspired details throughout the day.

The Inspiration:
The word romance makes me squirm, but we wanted a twenties romantic feel for our wedding. I’ve always been a fan of The Great Gatsby for the way Fitzgerald so elaborately depicted each scene, and I wanted that elegant charm to be reflected.
The Moments:
For me there were favorite moments during the ceremony and the reception. During our ceremony, it was the reminder that even though we had this fancy event going on around us, we were still just Cameron and Claire. Cameron had a few moments that had the entire place laughing, and it was just so perfect to hold his hands and laugh with my best friend while we declared our love forever to each other.
The reception was a wonderful time. From start to finish, it had no bad moments, but by far, my favorite was dancing to various songs with all of the people I love most. Whether it was Countdown by Beyoncé, Sugar Sugar by the Archies, or Signed Sealed Delivered by Stevie Wonder, there were smiles and grooves to be seen across the whole floor.

Barr Mansion is the best space ever. Love them so stinkin’ much. Shanna was amazing, and the staff were so helpful with food and dessert selection. Joel, the DJ, was great. He loves to throw a good party, and he was awesome to recommend uplighting for the reception. Angela was the very best addition. She was funny, fun, and a delight to have with all of the girls, my mom, and I as we prepped for the wedding.
