German Countryside Wedding at Gut Sedlbrunn

German-Countryside-Wedding-at-Gut-Sedlbrunn (26 of 35)

Thorsten and Mona may have had their wedding in Germany, but their choice to incorporate Indonesian traditions and décor made this wedding a true Indonesian wedding! Their invitations were designed based on the traditional Indonesian Batik, the wedding attire was custom made in Indonesia, and the food was delicious Indonesian cuisine! Gut Sedlbrunn in Germany offered the perfect reception venue for the soft blue and green handmade decor. Troistudios Photography expertly captured the amazing moments at this traditional wedding!

The Couple:

Thorsten and Mona

The Wedding:

Gut Sedlbrunn, Pöttmes, Germany

The Inspiration:

We chose shades of our favorite colors blue and green, and Mona meticulously planned the wedding décor with as many Indonesia inspired design elements as possible, yet keeping a contemporary countryside and vintage style. The invitation and all other printing design was based on Indonesian batik and created by an Indonesian designer. The bunting was partly Indonesian batik as well, and the Asian paper umbrellas, wooden bird cages, wooden Nyonya figures, and the metal boxes for the Indonesian Street Style Crisps called “Krupuk” were mostly even brought from Indonesia. All wedding outfits were custom made in Indonesia as well.

The Moments:

Our church ceremony was even more wonderful than we could have possibly hoped for — mostly thanks to our amazing Indonesian priest. It was not only spiritual, but also very personal and funny — and he deserved the standing ovations after his surprise performance of Elton John’s “Can you feel the love tonight” as well as our spontaneous invitation to join celebrations after the ceremony!

The Couple Recommends:

Hanni and Marcus were great and very committed photographers, and we love how they captured our special day! They had a good feel not only for us but kept also flexible for our own ideas as well. They were great company, and it was fun to be with them and photographed by them!

Romantic South African Wedding at The Glades Farm

July 12, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Romantic-South-African-Wedding-at-The-Glades-Farm (23 of 25)

Shaun and Tess’ wedding decisions were centered around the groom’s wish to exchange vows at his old school chapel in the countryside. Hoping to find a reception venue that could match up to its rural charm, the couple decided the rustic feel of The Glades Farm in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa fit their wedding design perfectly. Spending a lot of time exploring the beautiful forest that surrounded their reception, Kate Martens Photography was able to capture enchanting photos of the newly married couple.

The Couple:

Shaun and Tess

The Wedding:

The Glades Farm, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa

The Inspiration:

The inspiration for our décor theme was easy. Shaun always wanted to get married in his old school chapel in the countryside, so finding the venue for our reception was narrowed down to the Midlands. As one of our old family friends had converted an old barn into a wedding venue, the choice was easy. The rustic, farm style feel was the perfect fit for the classic country theme that I had always dreamed of.

The Moments:

Ooh that is a tough one! We loved every minute of our special day. Some of my favourite moments would have to be walking down the aisle and seeing my soon-to-be husband for the first time. Walking in to the reception, with everyone smiling, clapping and welcoming us as the new Mr and Mrs McGee. Having all our friends and family share our special day with us was the BEST! Wouldn’t have changed anything.

The Couple Recommends:

Everyone we worked with were amazing and I would recommend them all! A special mention must go to the incredibly talented Kate Martens. Not only did she capture our day perfectly, but she was amazing to work with. Gaby from The Glades was amazing and played a special part in ensuring our day was perfect.

Beautiful Backyard Wedding in Richmond VA

July 11, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Beautiful-Backyard-Wedding-in-Richmond-VA (25 of 38)

Nick and Krystle’s easy-going personalities really showed through in their wedding design. Picnic blankets, wild plants, candles, and handmade touches really brought a cozy feel to this backyard wedding in Richmond, VA. The couple incorporated the bride’s Hawaiian roots by participating in a pig roast, which catered an authentic meal for their guests. We love this bohemian, laid-back style that photographer Ash Carr so perfectly captured!

The Couple:

Nick and Krystle

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Richmond, Virginia

The Inspiration:

We like to think of ourselves as a very relaxed and low-key couple. We enjoy picnicking, all things vintage, organic, and re-purposed. We love to be creative and wanted our wedding to reflect that. Naturally, a vintage-bohemian vibe was the essence of our wedding. We planned the majority of our wedding and sourced all the decor from thrift and vintage shops. Nick made mini pallet tables for the reception. We wanted a very neutral color palette for our wedding day fashion. We left it up to our bridal party to pick the color and their own outfits. It was important to us that they wore something that they would wear again. Nick bought his groomsmen vintage ties and pocket squares he found, and I bought my bridesmaids layered necklaces to go with their dresses.

The Moments:

Our favorite wedding moment was saying our vows to each other. We wrote our own vows, and it was a really beautiful moment where we felt that it was just us, expressing our love for one another without worrying about anyone else or anything going on behind the scenes. Of course it was a real tear jerker. Another favorite moment of mine is Nick dancing in the field with an umbrella and a bottle of bourbon just being so carefree.

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographer, Ash Carr, captured our day beautifully. She is such a doll with so much talent and patience. Our day of coordinator, Kelly Harrison of The Wedding Rabbit, was a life saver. We hired her 6 days before our big day and really helped us tie up loose ends and organize. These gals helped us make our day really special and I am so grateful they were apart of our day.
