Late Summer Wedding in California

Late-Summer-Wedding-in-California (23 of 29)

There’s something about a late summer wedding that brings a sense of relaxation, excitement and beauty. The days feel calm and the nights look romantic — the perfect setting for a backyard wedding. Scott and Nina gathered close friends and family to celebrate their wedding in true summer style. Mix-matched antique glass jars, rustic touches, and food trucks dressed the couple’s friend’s house in Atherton, California. Lovely photographer Rachelle Derouin didn’t miss a moment capturing touching moments of the couple on their big day!

The Couple:

Scott and Nina

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Atherton, California

The Inspiration:

Scott and I had heard how overwhelming planning a wedding could be, so we decided to choose four words that we could focus on and come back to if we ever got lost in the chaos of the details, big or small. Our words were Community, Faith, “This is Us,” and Fun. Throughout the process, these words refocused our attention, grounded us, and reminded us what this big event was really all about. Since Scott works at our church, and I have a large community of work friends, we had a big ceremony there. Later in the evening, we had a smaller, more intimate dinner with some close friends and immediate relatives. In an effort to keep things simple and local, the reception was held in a friend’s backyard, and for dinner we had some delicious eats cooked up by our three favorite food trucks. The outdoor space provided such natural beauty, that I didn’t want to have any extravagant décor taking away from it. I thought harvest tables, mix-matched antique glass jars and vessels, and rustic touches here and there would be perfect complements to the beautiful, green surroundings. Our amazing wedding coordinator and miracle worker added her creative eye and special touches to really tie it all together. When we walked into the space, we were completely blown away by the magic and beauty of it all.

The Moments:

My favorite part of the day was between our ceremony and dinner reception. We drove from the church to the reception in an original 1954 Mercedes SL, with the windows down and the engine roaring, and soaked in everything that had just happened. We were married!! It was such a special moment because we were able to spend a few minutes together, just the two of us, in the midst of a wonderfully crazy and amazing day.

The Couple Recommends:

Jennifer and Carlos were particularly stellar! They made an extra effort to help wherever they could, were professional, and so kind.

Classic Texas Wedding at Hoffman Haus

August 8, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Classic-Texas-Wedding-at-Hoffman-Haus (10 of 40)

Choosing to host your wedding in the small quaint town of Fredericksburg, Texas allows any couple to have an intimate, sweet get-a-way on their big day. High school sweethearts Chad and Nicole decided light ivory gowns and dark maroon florals set the tone for their romantic small town wedding at the Hoffman Haus. As if Fredericksburg was made for them two, Chad and Nicole weren’t afraid to explore the surrounding areas in the hopes of capturing romantic moments with amazing photographer Amber Vickery. And, my oh my they did!

The Couple:

Chad and Nicole

The Wedding:

Hoffman Haus, Fredericksburg, Texas

The Inspiration:

Here’s a little insight about the day from Chad and Nicole’s wedding photographer Amber Vickery:

It was pretty incredible photographing the wedding of these two long time loves.  Nicole and Chad met in high school, fell for each other, and went off to separate colleges. They had a long distance love for many years before making the move to Brooklyn, NY together to pursue their dreams together in the big city – hers being an architect and his being a film maker.  After more than 10 years together they said their “I do’s” in an intimate ceremony at Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg, TX with 60 of their closest friends and family members. The wedding was classically composed with rich florals and personal touches.  Nicole actually designed her dress herself,  many of the plates and flatware were family heirlooms, and the car that they drove away in was Chad’s first car, given to him at 16 and the first car that he picked Nicole up in when they were teenagers.  So much love went into the planning of this incredibly romantic day.  I’m so honored to have documented it!

Southern Boho Wedding at The Cotton Warehouse

August 8, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Southern-Boho-Wedding-at-The-Cotton-Warehouse (34 of 41)

The most important part of any wedding design is that the details truly represent the couple’s style. With the help of Beyond Details, Charles and Natalie created a romantic, boho party wedding. Bright, warm florals, tribal printed rugs, and dreamcatchers dressed The Cotton Warehouse in Monroe, Georgia for Charles and Natalie’s big day! We cant’t get over all the fun and colorful details at this causal wedding! Beautifully capturing the day, The Shalom Imaginative photographed the couple celebrating their love with family and friends.

The Couple:

Charles and Natalie

The Wedding:

The Cotton Warehouse, Monroe, Georgia

The Inspiration:

I would describe it as boho casual with native american influences and lots of color. We really wanted it to be very relaxed for our guests. We had dreamcatchers on the ceremony chairs, vintage tribal fabrics on our tables, and turkish rugs lining the aisle of the garden. It was just perfect.

The Moments:

I think our favorite moment as a couple was reading our vows to each other. I had just lost my grandpa 3 days before our wedding so I was an emotional wreck, but trying to be strong. He could barely hold it together during his vows and that meant the world to me knowing that I was finally getting to marry the man that has loved me for so long and has gotten me through some of the most difficult times. It was so nice to be surrounded by our family and friends during that time and have them support us.

The Couple Recommends:

Our Photographers/Videographers, Nate and Amanda Howard, are not only extremely talented, but they are two of the best humans we have ever met. We feel blessed to know them and they made our day so special. They captured our wedding with such beauty and grace. We will forever be grateful to them.
