Choosing the perfect venue for your big day can sometimes be difficult, but for Stephanie and Mitchell the choice was clear! Johnson Motor Sales, which is the family’s vintage car business, was just the place for Stephanie and Mitchell to exchange their vows. Not only do they love vintage cars, but the couple decided a vintage themed wedding would complete the decor nicely — and it did! Retro car memorabilia, classic black and white attire, and soft cream florals dressed the venue as the couple tied the knot. And, making the day even more amazing, Beau Petersen Photography was there to capture it all!

The Couple:

Stephanie and Mitchell

The Wedding:

Johnson Motor Sales, New Richmond, Wisconsin

The Inspiration:

Our wedding inspiration came from our love of vintage, particularly vintage cars. We had the wedding at my family’s dealership. I’ve grown up with a love for vintage cars and pretty much anything vintage for that matter. It was a passion that was passed down from my parents to me. Mitch shares this same passion and has the gift of being able to know how to fix absolutely anything and everything. Vintage or not. So he has grown to become very involved in our family business and family hobbies such as vintage car racing.

The Moments:

My favorite part of our wedding was being able to have our wedding be an exact reflection of who we are. We were able to customize our entire ceremony, use my father’s vintage yellow greyhound bus to hangout on that day, and get married and celebrate in a space that meant so much to both of us. Mitch says his favorite moment was watching me walk down the aisle. The end result was astonishing and being able to pull it all off with the help of our family and friends was nothing short of a dream come true.

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographer and mc were above exceptional! They work so great together and kept the day on task so that everything went perfect! We also had a singer during our ceremony, Maggie Meath, whose voice is absolutely breath taking and made our wedding ceremony feel like a dream. Our officiant Carolyn was so great to work with and so accommodating. With her we were able to create a wedding ceremony that was personalized perfectly to fit our vision and who we are. Mike Higgins was our videographer and every time we watch our wedding video we get to relive that special day over and over again. Not only was the video amazing but he interviewed family and friends asking for words of advice and best wishes (which we had no idea was happening).

Formal Rustic Wedding at The Lodge at Torrey Pines

May 9, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Formal-Rustic-Wedding-at-The-Lodge-at-Torrey-Pines (12 of 24)

Gina and Will’s wedding at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in California was full of excitement and smiles! With the help of Gina’s mom and amazing planner Thomas Bui, Gina and Will’s big day was decked out with romantic candles and rustic wood stumps topped with natural elements. The bridesmaids wore soft pink gowns, which were a nice contrast to the colorful confetti thrown after the couple tied the knot. Priscila Valentina Photography was there to capture it all!

The Couple:

Gina and Will

The Wedding:

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, La Jolla, California

The Inspiration:

I didn’t want anything too structured, and I didn’t want to pick one color theme. I knew I wanted a lot of candles during the reception, and lots of loose, wild looking flowers in soft colors on the tables. I would describe it as sort of formal rustic.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment was walking into the reception. My mom (along with Thomas Bui, who was our month-of coordinator, and the team at The Lodge at Torrey Pines) did the majority of the coordinating and our florist was out of this world. I totally trusted my mom to take care of just about every detail, so I had no idea what the reception would look like! I hadn’t even seen a mock up with flowers. So when we walked in and saw everything decorated, it was a huge surprise and shock. I’m a crier, but had managed to make it through the entire ceremony without crying. I started crying though when I walked into the ballroom and saw all our family and friends, knowing how much work had gone in to creating such a beautiful night for the two of us.

The Couple Recommends:

Annette Gomez from Flowers Annette Gomez was fantastic! She also did the flowers for our rehearsal dinner, which was nearly as big as the wedding! She was fun and easy to work with. She totally understood what I wanted without too much direction. We also loved our photographer, Priscila Valentina Photography. They were a lot of fun to work with, which is important when someone is following you around all day! Our bridesmaids loved them too– one of my bridesmaids is getting married in May and is using Priscila Valentina as well!

The Wedding Team:

Event Planning – Thomas Bui (month-of coordinating)
Ceremony Venue – Founders Chapel at the University of San Diego

Purple and Green Wedding in Singapore

May 8, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Purple-Green-Wedding-Singapore-Kent-Wong-Photography (11 of 24)

Gardenasia, one of Singapore’s most amazing venues, is a fabulous greenhouse and set the stage for Valencia and Ray’s glamorous purple and green wedding. The couple envisioned a classic celebration with natural elements and elegant touches. Kent Wong Photography so beautifully captured the inexplicable love shared by Valencia and Ray, as well as the stunning venue and décor that made this wedding so unique.

The Couple:

Valencia and Ray

The Wedding:

Gardenasia, Singapore, Singapore

The Inspiration:

We both like open spaces and nature and looked around till we finally decided on Gardenasia, a huge nursery in the countryside, with facilities meant for weddings. Green fits the overall theme and purple was a good contrast. I went for a classic dark grey suit and purple tie, Valencia went for an elegant off shoulder full lace wedding gown, with a mid banquet change into a emerald green chiffon and satin gown. The inspiration for our wedding fashion was to keep it simple and classy.

The Moments:

They were all good moments! But I think the highlights were being ferried in the Kombi Van and popping of a bottle of magnum craft beer on stage instead of champagne.

Catering – Rasel Catering Singapore
Invitations – Sam Tan

Bridesmaids’ Apparel – Renee L
Groom’s Apparel – Hertslet & Co. Bespoke Clothier
