After Jeremy popped the question at a proposal dinner that the whole restaurant was in on, Jennifer and Jeremy wished for a casual wedding at New York City Hall that would allow them to focus the day around their marriage and commitment. The bride wore a blush, laced dress by Shoshanna, which was the perfect ensemble for wandering around the city. After their intimate ceremony at City Hall, the couple and a few close friends celebrated with a lunch at Freeman’s Restaurant. Elvira Kalviste Photography captured the couple as they took steps towards a new journey.

From the bride: My advice to other couples on their wedding day is to go with the flow. In the case of our City Hall wedding, most of the events of the day were unknown to Jeremy, but I always considered his sense of style, his tastes, and things that I knew he would like or appreciate. Always listen to one another, communicate, and make sure the day is about you. I would also recommend to not get caught up on little things that don’t matter. Try to keep it simple. City Hall was amazing and low key, yet beautiful and intimate. Whether you go big or small, make sure the day is reflective of the love you have with the other person. Your wedding day should be a celebration of that love — as everyday should be.
From the bride: I knew that I loved the rustic, Americana feel of Freeman’s restaurant. I had eaten there before, and just knew the place was unique and amazing. The cakes reflected both our style: simple, elegant, and classic. The bride’s cake was a simple, yet beautiful Lemon cake by Baked. And, his cake was an amazing cake with a picture of Nietzsche. Nietzsche also happens to be Jeremy’s favorite individual. City Cakes NY created a vintage looking Red Velvet cake with Nietzsche’s picture on the top.
