The Quintessential Mexico Destination Wedding at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

Danica and Daniel’s destination wedding at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun was the epitome of effortless elegance. The resort offered an intimate ceremony on the beach beneath a cluster of palm trees and a large pavilion for an open-air reception — plus a late-night dip in the pool! The couple kept their decor simple yet elegant, focusing on lush white and green floral centerpieces accented with gold lanterns, pillar candles, and rustic picture frames. The couple kept their wedding day looks fresh and youthful with the bride choosing a mermaid-style BHLDN gown and the groom donning a beige and white linen suit. But, we must admit, it was their casual, barefoot post-wedding photo shoot with Forever Photography that really melted our hearts.

One the morning of our wedding, my husband gave me a heart necklace with an eternity diamond necklace from Zales. I gave him a Ted Baker watch and a customized Love Book.

We always knew we wanted a destination wedding. We also knew we wanted an adults-only resort. It was just a matter of where. We have always heard great reviews about the Secrets hotel chains. So we googled which resort was the best and Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun had the best reviews and offered the best wedding packages.

Everything was magical! We loved seeing our entire family have a great time, and we loved seeing everyone dancing and having fun. The most memorable part was when we read our vows to each other and everyone laughed at the cracking of my voice when I (the bride) started to cry.

We gave all our guests LOVE bottle openers. We also gave them welcome bags when they arrived at the hotel. They were BAGGU totes filled with bluetooth headphones, lotion and spray, and a wedding day survival kit that included sunblock, Advil, a lint brush, mints, and hand sanitizer. We even wrote everyone a welcome note with a weekend itinerary and a list of fun things to do in Mexico!

I loved our sunrise day-after session. It was fun and free, and just natural. I was totally in my element (on the beach, no make-up, hair free, and being as silly as possible with my husband).

Earthy Crystal-Inspired Boulder Wedding at Sunrise Amphitheater

If mountain views and muted colors are your thing, you’re going to love Sara and Brent’s earthy Boulder wedding at Sunrise Amphitheater! The couple exchanged vows in a dreamy mountain summit ceremony that included a tree-planting unity ceremony and a sweet bubble exit. For the reception, they made their way to the cozy Dushanbe Tea House where they provided DIY geodes and all-night appetizers for their guests. We adore the simple, earthy vibes Hourglass Productions infused into Sara and Brent’s big day, especially the wild bouquets created by Dashwood Floral, the single-stem centerpieces, and the geode-inspired signage, all of which tied into the crystal-inspired color palette. Brittany Photographs could not have captured every beautiful detail more perfectly, but the pre-ceremony portraits with the couple’s fur babies were some of our favorites!

The most important part of planning our wedding was making sure our dogs could be part of the big day! My husband and I lived together for years before we got married, and our dogs are our children. Our lives revolve around them! My lab was a bridesmaid and his German Shepherd was a groomsman.

Our wedding day had so many great memories but one that stands out was seeing my wedding flowers for the first time. Genevieve, my florist, brought in the bouquets while I was finishing getting ready and they made me cry they were so beautiful! I gave her a general direction for flowers and she created the most beautiful bouquet I have ever seen.

For my wedding day look, I wanted a lacy boho feel, and I feel like my BHLDN dress and topper gave me that perfect look! Having a topper was like getting to wear two dresses without actually having to change — I just took the topper off after the ceremony. My shoes were off-white Birkenstocks, which were exactly my style: comfortable and practical! The ceremony was outside and we took pictures on a rocky outcropping but I had no problem rock-hopping in my Birks!

We did a tree planting during our ceremony. We brought soil from our hometowns in CA and IL andpoured the soil into a potted tree from CO. We nurture our wedding tree everyday and will one day plant it in the CO mountains we both love.

We gave out geodes for our wedding favors. We had a large crate of unbroken geodes and some hammers and had the guests break open their own geode. Crystals were part of our wedding decor so it went with our theme, but it was also a fun activity for guests! For our dog-loving guests, we also gave out homemade dog treats!

Instead of a sit down dinner, we did a long cocktail hour/heavy appetizers all night. I loved this because instead of time sitting down and eating I could snack all night and mingle with guests more.

This Il Mercato Wedding in New Orleans is Like an Indoor Garden Party

Indoor garden weddings are one of our new favorite wedding trends, especially when they are as elegant as this Il Mercato wedding in New Orleans. As you may have guessed, the main features of Krystal and Chris’ decor were the gorgeous floral arrangements and lush table garlands created by Mibellarosa Designs. The old-world charm of the Spanish-colonial style venue, along with the florals, the glitzy table settings, and the scrumptious dessert buffet, truly made this feel like an upscale dinner garden dinner party. Tahiry Humrich Photography did a phenomenal job capturing every beautiful detail and fun moment, including the wedding party’s second line from the church to the reception venue!

From the photographer: The most important aspect for Krystal and Chris was the comfort and happiness of their guests. They went to great lengths to make sure that everyone who attended their wedding was having fun and felt appreciated for showing up and being a part of their day. I think equally important to them were their religious beliefs and ensuring they honored their closeness to God.

From the florist: Krystal and Chris wanted a really intimate but fun wedding reception. They were completely in love with the church and wanted to keep it very simple there, but they wanted the florals and the overall feeling of their reception to be like a family dinner in an elegant garden with lots of candlelight for warmth and glow. We helped pick out table linens to make the tables feel more lush and pop in photos. Their sweetheart table was adorned with a bed of garden roses, clematis, sweet pea, foxglove, and other fragrant delicate blooms. Their long family table had a garland with wild flowers spilling from it.

From the photographer: When considering the timeline, make sure you factor in time to relax. A tight timeline will leave a couple stressed and feeling the like day went by in a blur! Consult with your wedding planner and photographer to make sure the timeline has plenty of built-in cushion and relaxing.
