This Mid-Century Storys Building Wedding in Downtown Toronto Has a Great Use of Greenery

March 21, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When Ann and Neil realized they couldn’t find an outdoor venue for their summer wedding, they decided to bring the outdoors inside at their Storys Building wedding in downtown Toronto. Working with Wild Vogel Works and Rosehill Blooms, the couple created the dreamiest greenery-forward decor using a combination of Tasmanian eucalyptus and Italian foliage. Their goal was to infuse a rustic feel into the industrial space, and we think they nailed it. The bride’s chic LoversLand perfectly complemented the mid-century modern vibe, and her bridesmaids’ pretty pink BHLDN dresses added just the right amount of boho feels to complete the natural look and feel. Eleanor Dobbins Photography did a fantastic job capturing all the urban loveliness this wedding had to offer!

The walk down the aisle after we were pronounced husband and wife I would say would have to be the most memorable. We had an upbeat song playing, ‘Don’t stop the Feeling’ by JT, everyone was smiling, laughing and taking pictures, and we had white confetti swirling all around us as the guests tossed it.

I’ve always loved the rustic, mid-century look of exposed brick, exposed beams, large windows and lots of greenery for a venue. We wanted a central location so that it was easy for guests to travel to- which the Storys Building provided. We couldn’t do an outdoor wedding (due to venue availability) so we brought the greenery indoors by having a few large, lush green garlands of Italian Ruscus and Gunnii eucalyptus hanging from the ceiling.
