There’s no denying that the wedding industry has completely transformed over the past couple of years. We went from grand affairs in ballrooms to smaller nuptials in backyards. But just because you’re saying “I do” at your family home doesn’t mean that your day has to be any less extravagant–and Paola and Mario’s backyard garden wedding is proof that it can be as simple or as glamorous as you want.

With the help of planner Elemento Tres, the couple turned Mario’s backyard into a wedding venue complete with over-the-top blush florals and a poolside dinner set-up, perfect for their closest friends and family. The two exchanged personalized vows before enjoying paella and dancing all night long to a live band.

From the heartwarming portraits of Paola and her grandfather (who was a surprise guest) to loving photos of the newlyweds in the home’s halls, photographer Paulina Bichara did an incredible job capturing every detail. Incorporating Mario’s Profession Into Their Vows

One of the most memorable moments was reading our personalized vows. My husband is a pilot, so the vows mentioned the journey (flight) we’re about to embark on with very special passengers (our family, friends, and English bulldog, Enzo). 

Why A Backyard Garden Wedding

We chose my husband’s house as our venue because of its beautiful garden. His grandfather passed away two weeks before our wedding, so we wanted an intimate and homey vibe that reminded us of those who passed.

Advice From The Bride

Your wedding day is all about your mood. I started the day with my favorite passion fruit tea and an incredible playlist. The people you surround yourself with the moment you are getting ready need to bring you peace. But at the same time, peace is acquired from within. Don’t let anyone or anything disturb your sparkle on your wedding day.
