Jenny and Filip’s wedding took place in the magical Swedish countryside. Their reception venue, Bergkvara Gard, and its surrounding grounds allowed natural colors of brown, green, and gray to shape the color palette. The couple mixed vintage décor with new items to create a fresh new twist to this Swedish wedding. Talented photographer Jonas Karlsson documented the beautiful moments this sweet couple spent at their enchanting wedding.

The Couple:

Jenny and Filip

The Wedding:

Bergkvara Gard, Vaxjo, Sweden

The Inspiration:

We were inspired by the beautiful venue and the Swedish countryside that surrounds it. The church and the reception venue were close to each other, and there is a lake and a beautiful old castle ruin next to where we had the reception dinner and party. The most important thing was that we wanted the day to reflect us and our personalities, not classic wedding traditions. We aimed for a botanical, rustic and vintage theme and our personal taste when it comes to the design. We did most of the preparations and decorations ourselves with some important help from family and friends the last few days before our wedding day. Filip‘s design skills were useful because we did the invitations ourselves and also other signs and paper work. Details were important but we wanted to keep it very down-to-earth and personal. Most of the decorations were vintage or at least vintage looking. Most of it came from our own home or flea markets and we also borrowed things from our friends and families.

The Moments:

We tried to come up with one favorite moment of the wedding, but it is impossible. The fact is that this was the first time we could gather all of our friends and family together at the same time with us and this alone made every moment special – from early morning until late night. We wanted everyone to have a fantastic and relaxed day, full of laughs, and to create memories together. Everything really turned out perfect; the weather was fantastic(not a guarantee in Sweden), the music and singing in church and at the reception was just lovely and very special to us. After walking down the aisle and before we joined our guests at the reception as Mr and Mrs we had a moment by ourselves. Our chauffeur drove around in the beautiful countryside and we could breathe it all in – we were just the happiest people in the world. One other thing that we are very happy about was that we chose music for the ceremony that was very special to us. A friend of ours sang, Jenny‘s cousin played the piano and this – together with a wonderful string quartet – fulfilled all of our wishes. We also have to mention our two fantastic lady toastmasters. We are so thankful for all of their arrangements and also of the speeches from our loved ones during the dinner(especially the dance lesson one of our friends gave us all). The night ended with a lot of dancing and amazing Mojitos from our favorite bartender.
