Ultra Glam Neutral-Colored Wedding at Solitaire Homestead in Western Australia

June 26, 2019 | juliette

After waiting over 2 years to get married, Rhiannon and John created the wedding of their dreams at Solitaire Homestead! Their goal was for all of their family and friends to feel their passion, enthusiasm, and love in every moment of the day and, judging by these photos captured by Shannon Stent Images, they totally nailed it. Lily + Leather created floral arrangements that integrated harmoniously with the surrounding nature and even the neutral tones of the entire wedding party look blended seamlessly. The bride’s Rue De Seine gown, in particular, was a sight to behold against both the countryside terrain and the waterfront cliffs. From top to bottom, this Australia wedding was a pure expression of the couple’s vintage/bohemian style, and eclectic, relaxed yet glam vibes.

The Couple:

Rhiannon and John

The Wedding:

Solitaire Homestead, Naturaliste, Australia

It had been raining all morning and was not looking as though it was going to back off. However, we stuck with our plan to have the ceremony under a beautiful gumtree in the paddock. It had just stopped raining as my girls and I got in the Kombi to make the journey to the ceremony. The clouds were thick and heavy, hanging over all of us the entire ceremony as if the heavens were about to open. It held off until we shared our first kiss as a married couple. Then, it sprinkled as if the clouds were congratulating us. It was such a surreal experience, something we’ll always remember!

Our best advice for other couples is to give yourselves time! Although our planning period was rather long, we would not change a thing. It was an absolute dream to have the extra time on our side. We never felt rushed and it allowed us many options when choosing vendors. With a limitless amount of wedding inspiration from pages like Instagram and Pinterest, you will need ‘time’ to make those important decisions.

We had a tequila shot toast when we arrived back to the reception. Each of the guests received a shot just prior to our arrival. Each shot glass was individual, no two were the same. The bridesmaids and I collected them at op shops and thrift shop all around Perth. There was a mix of vintage/antique, etched, embossed and crystal glassware. It was so cute!
