This Kitsap Memorial State Park Wedding Proves the PNW Can be Totally Elegant

June 3, 2019 | juliette

Ashley and Peter brought forest elegance to life in their incredible Kitsap Memorial State Park wedding! The couple’s goal was to be close to nature and to throw an event that made all their nearest and dearest feel totally loved. Using neutral tones, elegant decor, and natural elements, they went above and beyond the typical moody PNW vibes to create a soft look that was as enchanting as it was unique. From the first look to the first dance, and all the romantic moments in between, Kamra Fuller Photography was there to capture every bit of this unforgettable Washington forest wedding!

The Couple:

Ashley and Peter

The Wedding:

Kitsap Memorial State Park, Kitsap County, Washington

Out of all the special moments from the day, two stick out above the others. The first was our first look. We felt a lot of stress leading up to the wedding and we both felt anxious the morning of the big day. Once we both saw each other it all seemed to melt away and everything felt right. The other very memorable part of the day was after we finished our first dance and all our friends and family joined us on the dance floor. Everyone was dancing and having a great time and we both felt so appreciative that people traveled near and far to spend that day with us. We were completely surrounded by the love and joy of all our family and friends. It was perfect!

When researching venues we knew we wanted something outdoors surrounded by trees and near the water. It was also very important for our venue to be dog-friendly so that we could include our fur baby on our special day. Kitsap Memorial State Park was actually the very first venue we looked at. We looked at a dozen other venues but the conversation always went back to Kitsap Memorial State Park.

Ashley surprised Peter with a video message from his grandparents. They were not able to travel to the wedding, so Ashley solicited the help of Peter‘s family to record a special message and a friend to create a video toast from the grandparents to play at the reception. It was a very special way to include them in the wedding even though they couldn’t be there in person.
