Avery and Jared have always loved The Great Gatsby, so they blended inspiration from their favorite Roaring Twenties icon with their own modern details! This Columbus Museum of Art wedding featured décor like a majestic ice sculpture, a classic black, gold, and ivory color palette, and larger-than-life floral installations. From the bride’s bejeweled Paris by Debra Moreland headband to her beaded Jenny Packham gown and bright red lips, we love everything about Avery’s glitzy and glam bridal look! Photographer Rouxby captured every detail of the couple’s wedding beautifully, including some really special ways that the couple honored the bride’s late mother.
Avery and Jared
Making sure we had FUN was important! We didn’t want the memory of the most special day of our lives to be bogged down in the details of planning. We wanted our wedding day to be a celebration full of love, family and friends and that is exactly what we got!
The actual ceremony was the most memorable part of the day. We have to admit it was often the part of the day we thought about least during planning. It was such an amazing memory we will always share together–take it all in!
The vintage Studebaker getaway car was a surprise for Jared! Jared also surprised Avery with a McKenzie Child’s (her mom’s favorite) ring holder while she was getting ready.
Avery‘s bridesmaids all wore Black, floor-length Rachel Zoe gowns with custom back necklaces by Honey Rose & K. The groomsmen all wore sharp black tuxedos from trusty Men’s Wearhouse.
Avery wanted to do a mix between old Hollywood glamour and the glitz of Great Gatsby. She could not have squeezed one more shiny object on her body between her Jenny Packham beaded gown, her headpiece or accessories. Accessories were by PARIS by Debra Moreland, Honey Rose & K custom back necklace, Henri Bendel, and Christian Louboutin pumps.
We both LOVE The Great Gatsby! We wanted to throw an amazing party for our family and friends that they would never forget, so why not take a page from The Gatsby himself? Our colors were black, gold, and ivory. Such a classic combination and so stunning in pictures.
Avery lost her mother a little over 2 years ago, so we wanted to make sure we felt like she was there. We had her wedding dress and veil on display in the museum along with a vintage Studebaker (her maiden name) get-away car to pick us up from the church!
