The Floral Design in This Cavalli Estate Cape Town Wedding will Blow Your Mind

When art lovers Suhanri and Jacques decided to tie the knot at Cavalli Estate, they drew on the modern, contemporary vibes of the venue to create a wedding day that was truly one-of-a-kind. Their floral design created by Fleur Le Cordeur was a work of art in itself and featured a geometric ceremony arch covered with large blooms, ceiling installations bursting with color and texture, and a cascading bridal bouquet unlike any we’ve ever seen. This talented florist even made custom floral prints that Suhanri and Jacques used to create table runners, a backdrop for their wedding party table, and all the paper goods. As if that wasn’t enough, Suhanri and her good friend Casper Bosman designed her wedding dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses, which were personalized with sequin, feathers, lace, and tassels for a whimsical, elegant feel that complemented the entire wedding vibe. Claire Thomson Photography totally nailed it in capturing every unbelievably beautiful element of this South African wedding!

Do as much you can by yourself. The planning of it all is part of the experience. Be involved and have a personal touch. Don’t stress: it is meant to be the most precious journey. Get a day-of coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly. Plan well and do everything you can up to the day before the wedding to ensure you are stress-free and present on your wedding day. And remember, the day is about you as a couple — do what you feel is best. Don’t make decisions based on what your guests would love; do what you love!

In the end, all that matters is getting married. The moment we said, “I do,” was the most incredible feeling. Then nothing else mattered. Our pastor poured us each a glass of red wine to celebrate our marriage, and to have our first toast with each other. That was a special moment, and one we will always remember!

The modern, contemporary design of the venue blew us away. We had our 3-year anniversary dinner at the venue’s restaurant and vowed that it would be our venue when we got married. One year later, it was! The mountain views, vineyards, and the pristine sunken garden were perfect for the style we were going for. The venue also has an art gallery and, being an art lover, it just felt meant to be!

We got engaged at Keukenhof Garden in Amsterdam, between fields and fields of tulips. So, we used that as our inspiration for the wedding design. The combination of extravagant flowers and patterns was total perfection.

Our florist really brought everything together. She did a personal shoot of floral arrangements for us based on our personalities and our love for textures and patterns. She also took into account how we got engaged and our love for modern art. That image was the center of our entire wedding vibe. We printed it on fabric for our table runners, used it as a backdrop for our bridal table, and used it for our confetti cones, wedding invitations, photo booth strip designs, and also as inspiration for our stationary.
