Rustic New Jersey Garden Wedding at Crossed Keys Estate

When it comes to rustic chic design, Kelsey and Dan’s wedding at Crossed Keys Estate had it in spades! The couple had their ceremony in the estate’s garden, which provided the most beautiful backdrop for Pat Furey Photo to captured every romantic moment. With wooden signage, florals galore, laser cut decor from the ceremony to the sweetheart table, and the prettiest gold accents, Event Designs by Katherine took rustic chic to a whole new level…and we’re obsessed! We also can’t get enough of the bride’s Tara Lauren gown and flower hairpiece that perfectly matched the decor. From beginning to end, this New Jersey estate wedding was the definition of summer bliss, and every detail was flawless!

The Couple:

Kelsey and Dan

The Wedding:

Crossed Keys Estate, Andover, New Jersey

Dan and I wanted to plan a wedding that was unique and memorable for our guests while also staying true to us and who we are as a couple. We incorporated a lot of personal and meaningful details throughout the day, like having both of our parents’ wedding photos at the ceremony and naming our signature drink after our dog (we called it the “Mila Mule”!). We also had my grandfather’s vintage car (Excalibur) parked at the entrance for all of our guests to see as they drove in – this was super sentimental for me as my grandfather passed away last year. Overall, we really wanted our guests to have a fun experience with lots of food, dancing, and love all around!

For us, two moments from the day really stand out as being unforgettable. The first was during the ceremony recessional as Dan and I walked back down the aisle hand in hand. It was a feeling I will never forget and sort of a “sigh of relief” that all of the planning and hard work we put into this wedding led up to this, and now we can just relax and have fun at our reception! Also, seeing every single person we love and adore in one spot, celebrating the fact that we just said “I do” literally brought tears to my eyes.

The second most memorable moment was when our videographer pulled us outside during the reception to take some aerial footage of us with his drone. It was the first time all day that Dan and I had a moment with just the two of us, and for a minute we just stood outside the reception tent and watched everyone dancing and having fun and just thought to ourselves, “Wow, this is our wedding!”

Dan and I both love nature and the outdoors and knew that we didn’t want to be indoors and have our guests be limited to staying in one large room. Crossed Keys Estate was the first venue we looked at and we instantly fell in love! This outdoor venue is so breathtakingly beautiful – there are gorgeous flowers and landscaping everywhere you look, and the ceremony backdrop is a super unique, historic building that is just crawling with character and surrounded by greenery and wildflowers. We knew that we didn’t need to dress up our wedding with a ton of decorations because the venue itself did most of the work for us! We also loved the fact that Crossed Keys is a family owned and operated venue. The Rodriguez family was an absolute joy to work with and made the entire planning process fun and easy for us!
