Rustic Glam Swedish Wedding at Rosenhanska Magasinet

Victoria and John have always loved rustic, woodsy design elements just as much as they love glam details, so they decided to have the best of both worlds and throw a rustic glam wedding! Their Swedish wedding started with a classic church service and stretched into the night at Rosenhanska Magasinet, a rustic countryside barn venue the couple decked out in floral décor and tons of twinkly lights. We think Victoria’s lace Martina Liana bridal gown and royal blue Manolo Blahnik pumps perfectly reflected her love for glamour and natural beauty. Matilda Söderström Photography captured every moment of Victoria and John’s wedding, including their extra-fun first dance!

The most important thing was that our wedding reflected us and our personalities – from the venue, to our wedding attire, music, food, etc. We wanted to set the fun, yet laid back mood of our wedding and from the feedback and comments from our guests, it appears we managed that extremely well!

I found a bouquet on Pinterest and loved the type of flowers and colours – blue thistle, various pastel roses, apricot lisianthus mixed with green foliage. I then based the bridesmaids dress around these colours and matched my long sleeve style dress with theirs.

I knew I wanted a fitted dress as I’m quite slight but really wanted to look different at the same time. To what I’d seen other brides wear. So I went for an invisible lace dress with a detailed bodice but simple skirt/bottom half. I kept the glamour by having my hair pinned up high on my head and accessorized with Chanel drop earrings and bright blue, Manolo Blahnik heels. This was also my ‘something blue’.

For both of us, the most memorable part of the day was the alone time we had in the car after the church service to the venue. The driver, drove very slow and took a bit of a detour, so we took the opportunity to crack open a bottle of champagne, let the marriage experience sink in, (the ‘woah, we just did that and it feels amazing!’), enjoyed a few moments together driving through the Swedish countryside, before being greeted by the guests at our reception.

The groom, John, designed all invitations, place cards, menus and other signage to add that personal touch and reflect our style.

The setting of the venue was stunning, the venue was rustic and not polished. We loved the laid back nature of it, in contrast to our day to day life in London. We felt that the venue really encapsulated ‘us’. I’ve always loved the woodland and wanted to use this as an inspiration for our wedding – from colours, to textures, to flowers.

I had the vision for the table decorations, I wanted something more than flowers, so introduced faux moss, bud vases and small tea light holders to create the connectivity on the long tables.

Our wedding vibe/style was laid back, rustic, mixed with a bit of glam. I guess you could call it ‘rustic glam’ – our wedding attire was quite glam in comparison to the venue and its surroundings.
