Ceremony arches continue to be a favorite trend in wedding decor, and 2018 has been the best yet for inspiration! We’re seeing more couples add unique twists to the shape and design of their ceremony arch to make it fit their style and stand out from anything we’ve seen before. From a-frames to cascading florals to shapes that redefine the idea of a traditional “arch,” we’re so impressed with the ways couples are reimagining this classic decor piece. So, without further ado, here are the ceremony arches that have made the biggest splash in 2018 — and, we imagine, will keep popping up all year long!
Mark and Andrew’s destination wedding at Villa Aye is a floral paradise. With flowers on every table and the largest floral installment as the backdrop for the ceremony, IAMFLOWER designed the most dreamy floral arrangements for Mark and Andrew’s wedding. It gave such a luxe vibe, and The Wedding Bliss Thailand and Pure Bliss used this inspiration for the rest of the wedding style and decor. Photographer Alen Karupovic and videographer Vincent Rommelaere captured the day’s festivities from a relaxing morning to ending the night with dancing and a drag queen performance by Kwang Beyonce.
As soon as we found Villa Aye online we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. It had stunning views of the ocean with an intimate ceremony and reception space. It was the perfect canvas to design an extraordinary experience for our guests.
It’s really hard to pinpoint the most memorable part, as there were so many special moments. Walking down the aisle with our mothers was extremely special, especially as Andrew‘s mother had just recovered from a car accident and we were not sure she would be able to walk down the aisle.
We had custom designed suits by BELANCĒ that we fell in love with. With all our guests wearing lights and whites we thought it would be fun to stand out with light blue suits. 1 single breasted and 1 double breasted

We gave custom beach bags with each guests name on it filled with goodies and supplies for their visit to Thailand. We use little gold compasses to help the guests find their seats. The color went with our theme and the compasses represent the long distances people traveled to be with us.
I would say our theme was ocean-side garden wedding. We love to be outdoors and being near water, one of the many reasons we moved to Sydney, Australia a few years ago. We went heavy on greenery and then used white flowers to make the greenery pop. To make the color scheme a bit more modern and elegant we selected gold as our accent color.
We LOVED surprising our guests with a Beyonce Drag Queen impersonator. We had Beyonce and 2 backup dancers do an out-of-this-world performance.
This bohemian-inspired wedding has vintage vibes that will have you thinking you’re back in the ’70s! The Moon and her Stars styled an intimate ceremony and reception space at The Drake Hotel that has a soft color palette with pops of yellow and blue. The retro vibes were completed by the bride’s Rue De Seine wedding dresses (hello bell sleeves and fringe!) and the groom’s light blue suit and mustard tie from Tytan Ties. We can’t get enough of the detail and absolutely love how photographer Marcucci Photography and videographer SDE Weddings captured this fun wedding inspiration!
