Good Vibes & Great Times Were Had at This Wolf Feather Honey Farm Wedding

April 26, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Gema and Matt’s Wolf Feather Honey Farm wedding proves that you don’t need a theme or even a strict color palette to create a killer celebration! This free-spirited couple let the rustic, rugged vibe of the venue dictate the decor and, with the help of Mad Made Designs, they ended up with a mash-up of styles that created stunning moments for In Frames Photography to capture. There were bohemian, rustic, edgy, and elegant influences everywhere, most notably in Gema’s eclectic bridal look that included a fringe and lace Rue De Seine gown, an antique gold crown, handmade stone jewelry, and black combat boots. Luckily for all of us, Audrey Alba Films was also there to capture every unbelievable moment, from the Shamanic ceremony that included a crystal blessing to the cozy nighttime picnic-style reception under the stars, so we can live vicariously through this gorgeous couple!

The Couple:

Gema and Matt

The Wedding:

Wolf Feather Honey Farm, Temecula, California

We didn’t want to restrict ourselves by having wedding colors or a wedding theme. I really wanted to embrace the natural colors of our surroundings but add a darker tone for some dimension. The floral color palette was made mostly of ivory, burgundy, and blush with eucalyptus greenery.

Our ceremony was performed by a Shamanic practitioner and a Reiki Master Teacher. With her help and guidance, we were able to create a ceremony based on spiritual energy and nature. During the ceremony, guests were invited to come up and offer their blessings to Matthew and me by placing their good wishes onto one of seven crystals and placing the crystal into an antique silver bowl that we will cherish at home on our altar space.

We have 3 pieces of advice for couples who are planning their wedding: 1.) Don’t cheap out on the photographer and videographer because the day does by in a flash, and it’s nice to go back to all those awesome feelings when you look through your photos and watch your video. 2.) Save yourself a headache and don’t do assigned seating. 3.) Be organized and delegate day-of duties as much as possible.

This Personal Treehouse Point Wedding is Pure PNW Eye Candy

April 25, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Kelly and Marc are making fairytale wedding dreams come true with their earthy wedding at Treehouse Point. Their ceremony was set deep in the towering woods and included the prettiest natural wood ceremony backdrop, special readings from their family, and emotional moments. The treehouse venue made for a wildly romantic first look and post-ceremony portrait sessions with Just Like Honey, who took full advantage of the golden light and lush surroundings in every shot. The bouquets and table arrangements created by Fab Floral were equally stunning and featured moody red, purple, and pink blooms perfect for a fall wedding in the PNW.

Our wedding consisted of an intimate 33 guests, including our photographer. A few hours before the wedding, we were let onto the property to decorate and set up. My bridesmaids, Marc‘s groomsmen, our immediate family, and great friends were all there setting up. There were chairs to be put out, lanterns to be displayed, flowers and place cards to be set. There was a lot to do, but it was incredible to see all of it come together. Everyone helped, astonished by the surroundings, and were excited just to be there. They influenced and set up our marriage just as they had all our lives; it was poetic.

I have been and always will be a crier. I cry when I’m happy, I cry when I’m overwhelmed, and I cry when there is any beauty or passion in a moment. I knew I was going to be a mess during our ceremony and thought a first look would be when I could get most of the tears out. (I don’t think it helped much to be honest.) Our first look was a moment that I felt overwhelmed with happiness, with passion, and surrounded by beauty. Naturally, there was a full waterfall coming from my eyeballs. There were so much emotion and anticipation from the both of us and to get to share it solely with each other, that is something we will never forget!

I grew up flying to Washington state each year from Houston, and each year I stood amazed at these beautiful towering trees, lush forests, and changing seasons. It was a grand juxtaposition. My dream wedding was always in the Pacific Northwest, but it became reality because Marc is also a great admirer of nature. The encouragement of our families making our wedding day about the celebration of us and our future solidified our decision to get married at a venue meant for fairytales.
