The Floral Design in This Cavalli Estate Cape Town Wedding will Blow Your Mind

August 22, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When art lovers Suhanri and Jacques decided to tie the knot at Cavalli Estate, they drew on the modern, contemporary vibes of the venue to create a wedding day that was truly one-of-a-kind. Their floral design created by Fleur Le Cordeur was a work of art in itself and featured a geometric ceremony arch covered with large blooms, ceiling installations bursting with color and texture, and a cascading bridal bouquet unlike any we’ve ever seen. This talented florist even made custom floral prints that Suhanri and Jacques used to create table runners, a backdrop for their wedding party table, and all the paper goods. As if that wasn’t enough, Suhanri and her good friend Casper Bosman designed her wedding dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses, which were personalized with sequin, feathers, lace, and tassels for a whimsical, elegant feel that complemented the entire wedding vibe. Claire Thomson Photography totally nailed it in capturing every unbelievably beautiful element of this South African wedding!

Do as much you can by yourself. The planning of it all is part of the experience. Be involved and have a personal touch. Don’t stress: it is meant to be the most precious journey. Get a day-of coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly. Plan well and do everything you can up to the day before the wedding to ensure you are stress-free and present on your wedding day. And remember, the day is about you as a couple — do what you feel is best. Don’t make decisions based on what your guests would love; do what you love!

In the end, all that matters is getting married. The moment we said, “I do,” was the most incredible feeling. Then nothing else mattered. Our pastor poured us each a glass of red wine to celebrate our marriage, and to have our first toast with each other. That was a special moment, and one we will always remember!

The modern, contemporary design of the venue blew us away. We had our 3-year anniversary dinner at the venue’s restaurant and vowed that it would be our venue when we got married. One year later, it was! The mountain views, vineyards, and the pristine sunken garden were perfect for the style we were going for. The venue also has an art gallery and, being an art lover, it just felt meant to be!

We got engaged at Keukenhof Garden in Amsterdam, between fields and fields of tulips. So, we used that as our inspiration for the wedding design. The combination of extravagant flowers and patterns was total perfection.

Our florist really brought everything together. She did a personal shoot of floral arrangements for us based on our personalities and our love for textures and patterns. She also took into account how we got engaged and our love for modern art. That image was the center of our entire wedding vibe. We printed it on fabric for our table runners, used it as a backdrop for our bridal table, and used it for our confetti cones, wedding invitations, photo booth strip designs, and also as inspiration for our stationary.

Minimalist Tropical Prospect House Wedding in the Texas Hill Country

August 21, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When Corpus Christi sweethearts Elise and Schuyler planned their Prospect House wedding, they brought a tropical and minimalist vibe to the Texas Hill Country that could not have been more beautiful! Grant Daniels Photography captured every moment of this gorgeous wedding, from the sweet bridesmaids reveal to the emotional first look to the couple’s private last dance before their sparkler exit. Although the details were minimal, the overall look of the copper accents, tropical greenery, and sentimental framed photos was classic and elegant in the otherwise blank slate venue. Florists Remi & Gold truly brought the space to life with large leaf centerpieces and wall installations, and the simple addition of a neon sign with the couple’s name added just the right amount of casual-cool flair to the décor. Simply put: this Hill Country wedding was minimalist, tropical, and laid-back done right!

The Wedding:

Prospect House, Dripping Springs, Texas

Our photographer, Grant Daniels, was Simply incredible. He was so pleasant to work with and his photos were stunning, something we will treasure for a lifetime.

Our best wedding planning advice is to simply focus on what is important to you both and cut out anything that isn’t important or meaningful. That allowed me to put my effort into focal points of my wedding instead of stressing about all the little things I knew I wouldn’t even notice.

Prospect House is absolutely stunning even without any decorations. The beauty of the simplicity attracted me to this venue knowing I had a blank slate to make it our own.

After the reception was over and all the guests exited the building for the sparkler exit, Schuyler and I shared one last dance with no one else around. We were able to take it all in. I remember looking out and seeing the tables all messed up and dirty dishes around, and it made me so happy to know all of our favorite people had filled up that space and were there for us. At that moment, it sunk in that the wedding all happened — it was over and it all felt so perfect!

My mom sewed a light blue felt heart on the inside of my dress for my “something blue.”

My favorite photo is the one of me crying when we first saw each other – something about it gives me chills and takes me back to that moment!

Pinterest was a lot of help when figuring out our wedding day look! I loved my dress because it was very unique – I’ve never seen anyone have one like it, and my husband wore a dark navy blue tux.

I loved that my wedding planner and photographer went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to be there on my special day.
