This Modern Vintage Maitland Art Center Wedding Makes Winter Park, Florida Look Like Italy

August 4, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When it comes to weddings with breathtakingly romantic ceremony spaces, Paige and Nick’s Florida wedding at the Maitland Art Center is easily on our list of favorites! Set against a stone wall lined with ferns and an intricate stone cross, their ceremony made us feel as if we had been transported into an old-world village. For their reception, they kept the details effortless and natural, allowing the outdoor space of Armando’s Winter Park set the tone for a laid-back dinner and dance party under the stars. Paige’s customized Tara Keely gown had that hint of vintage flair, and the bridesmaids’ white Lulus dresses and Nick’s forest green suit from Noose & Monkey added a modern twist that elevated and updated the look for a truly modern romantic look. We can hardly believe the incredibly intimate moments that Ardency and Arrow Co captured throughout this entire wedding day!

The Couple:

Paige and Nick

The Wedding:

Maitland Art Center and Armando’s Winter Park, Winter Park, Florida

We met 11 years ago in high school and have been in love ever since, so needless to say our wedding was well overdue! When planning our wedding we really wanted to have a day where everyone who had helped and encouraged our journey could share and make our wedding special and intimate. This includes the love of our lives, our pup, Rocky!

The most memorable for us was our ceremony. It felt so raw and real and made me fall in love with Nick all over again. Hearing our vows said aloud to each other was something that I play on repeat in my mind. We chose my long-time best friend and matron of honor to perform our ceremony and it was by far the best choice. She has known us for years and made it so personal and such a perfect fit for us.

One look at the Maitland art center and that’s all it took for us to know it was where we wanted to become husband and wife. It was amazing breathtaking in its simplicity. Ferns are a favorite plant of ours so having the ceremony site lined with them helped with the choice as well! For our reception we knew we wanted outdoor and intimate, we got lucky and stumbled upon Armando’s and the quaint outside private dining area. The owners were amazing and let us transform it to our vision!

California Desert Dinner Party Wedding at The Lautner

August 4, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Blaire and Jordan’s laid-back wedding at The Lautner had all the charm of the Palm Springs desert and mid-century modern vibes from the venue, which combined for a truly dreamy day! The couple left no detail unattended and made sure everything from the taco bar to the high-energy music to the Polaroid photos of guests they displayed around the venue helped the guests feel welcome, special, and totally loved. We love how they managed to create a cozy dinner party look and feel with understated table settings and blush and white florals designed by The Lavender Rose that complemented both the romance of the desert and the mid-century modern design of the venue. We also love how Blaire let her gorgeous Marchesa be the stand-out element of her bridal look by adding minimal accessories and keeping her makeup and hair soft and natural. Let’s Frolic Together killed it in capturing every moment of this incredible Palm Springs wedding!

The Couple:

Blaire and Jordan

The Wedding:

The Lautner, Palm Springs, California

For us, it was all in the details. We wanted to be sure that every aspect of the day popped and stood out. From the cocktail napkins to the flowers, we tried to leave no stone unturned. While planning, I was constantly trying to put myself in the guests’ shoes. I really wanted it to be a special and most importantly, an incredibly fun experience for everyone who attended. It was also really important to us that everyone attending was well taken care of. We secured multiple room blocks early, reserved round-trip shuttles for our guests, and made sure to include all of our wedding details on a website.

My husband and I are both Southern California Natives and currently live in the Bay Area, so we decided that Palm Springs would be a perfect place to bring everyone together. I discovered our venue, the Lautner, while researching rental spaces in the California desert. It was perfect in every way and exactly what Jordan and I had envisioned. The moment we stepped foot on the property for our site visit, we both knew it was perfect. I instantly started planning every detail and envisioning our wedding day in my head. It was perfect!

To personalize our ceremony, we wrote our own vows, which was our way of expressing our most intimate feelings, wants and needs in front of 200 people. Having our wedding party standing up there with us also felt like a way of displaying our closest friends from our many different walks of life. Lastly, my younger brother officiated the ceremony which was personal to me and Jordan, since he is a best friend to both of us.

In the months leading up to the wedding, we carried a Polaroid camera around with us and took candid shots of our friends and family. On the day of the wedding, we displayed them all around the venue for our guests to see. It was a fun little Easter egg to include!

Our photographer, Jasmine, was incredible. I am very camera shy, and she made me feel so comfortable! Jasmine has an effortless ability that made us feel like we’d known her our whole lives, almost like a sister or best friend. She got all of the shots and captured things that we didn’t get to see in person. It was hard to say goodbye to her!

We wanted the day to be fun, easy and laid back not only for us but for everyone in attendance. Jordan and I love hosting people in our home, so we saw our wedding as an extension of this. We wanted a “dinner party followed by an epic dance party” vibe, and I think we managed to pull it off, thanks to our amazing caterer and DJs!

Teal and Apricot Greenhouse Elopement Inspiration at Fort Edmonton Park

August 3, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Whether you’re having an intimate elopement or a large wedding that you want to have an intimate feel, this greenhouse elopement inspiration is for you! Barbara Rahal Photography let the natural beauty of the historic greenhouse in Fort Edmonton Park speak for itself and added just a touch of modern, textural florals and greenery designed by Fabloomosity to set apart a small space for the couple to exchange vows. For a touch of whimsy, they accentuated the low-back design of the bride’s Rue de Seine gown with a turquoise drop pendant that matched the modern, earthy feel of the entire shoot. Between the vibrant, summery color palette, the intimate setup, and the hand-lettered vows done by Mihos & Maple, we’re having trouble thinking of anything more romantic than this greenhouse elopement!

From the photographer: The inspiration behind lays behind the fact that I absolutely love intimate elopements just as much as I love big weddings. I want to inspire couples, who contemplate eloping but perhaps also want to celebrate with family and friends as much and find themselves divided between ideas and their hearts. Couples that go for a big wedding day can still privately celebrate and enjoy the intimacy of an elopement feel by keeping a small part of their day, dedicated to reading vows. They can still stay true to what feels right for them as a couple, find the right setting like this cute Greenhouse from 1906. Incorporating this special moment in the day may also eliminate the extra stress of having to read such intimate vows in front of the guest, let’s be real it can be pretty nerve-racking. Some couples opt out of reading personal vows for that same reason. I want to inspire and invite others to open up their heart and focus on what the day is really all about: them as a couple.
