Intimate Wildflower Inspired Rattlesnake Lake Elopement

April 24, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Inspired by the whimsical and free-spirited nature of wildflowers, Madi and Josiah’s Rattlesnake Lake elopement was as lovely as could be! The couple gathered their nearest and dearest for a waterfront ceremony filled with love, music, and beautiful views. Then the couple wandered away with Alex Lasota Photography for a newlywed portrait session on the cliffs, along the water’s edge, and into the forest that made our hearts burst with joy! In keeping with the simple and lighthearted vibe of this elopement, My Garden Overfloweth created the prettiest wildflower bouquet for the bride and matching boutonniere for the groom, both of which added the pop of color that was needed against the mostly neutral, natural landscape.

This Rustic Glam Indian Wedding at Durali Villa is a British Columbian Countryside Dream

April 23, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Rather than stick to a traditional Indian wedding, Lindsay and Neeraj incorporated only the most meaningful Indian wedding traditions into their special day at Durali Villa, and made the rest a country-chic event to remember! Top Knot Events helped the couple bridge the gap between all-out glam and down-home charm, and the result was truly lovely. Jennifer Picard Photography and second shooter Danielle Annette Photography were there to capture every dreamy detail, from the bride’s incredible traditional attire from Vivah Collection to the couple’s personalized outdoor ceremony to their sparkler first dance at the reception. Honestly, we’re so hopelessly in love with the country vibes and moody colors of this wedding that we’ll just be here the rest of the day staring at these photos — and we guarantee you will want to, as well!

Lindsay and Neeraj

The Wedding:

Durali Villa, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada

Our officiant, Sondra Richardson, helped us to create our wedding ceremony based entirely on our love story! We had to answer some fun relationship questions, and we had a few light-hearted Skype dates in the process to help her to get to know us as people. As a result, our wedding ceremony was personalized and meaningful to us and our families, which is everything we hoped for. We were even able to include some meaningful and sacred rituals from our Indian culture. We totally recommend looking at a wedding officiant to bring your wedding ceremony to life.

This Minimalist Garden Wedding at Terrain at Styer’s is Exactly What Your Pinterest Has Been Waiting For

April 22, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Corinne and Joseph’s wedding at Terrain at Styer’s was essentially a rustic and ethereal garden dream come to life! The couple embraced the natural feel of the venue and added only minimal, heartfelt details to make the space feel truly personalized. Florist Julie D’Agostino took their vision of stepping into an organic garden and created the prettiest floral arrangements in a soft palette of pinks, whites, and greens, which looked absolutely gorgeous against all the greenery within the grounds. This wedding was full of warmth, full of love, and full of beautifully curated details, all of which Patrick Robinson Photography captured with such ease and grace.

The Wedding:

Terrain at Styer’s, Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania

The most important thing to us in planning our wedding was to have it feel more like an intimate gathering than a large formal wedding. We live quite far from our friends and family and wanted to be able to remember and spend as much time as we could on this special with our nearest and dearest.

Before we were ever engaged, my girlfriends and I spent hours planning our “dream weddings” by searching blogs and websites, and that’s when I stumbled upon Terrain at Styer’s. I instantly fell in love with the ethereal yet rustic aesthetic. The first time I visited, I knew it was the place. It felt intimate and magical and was exactly what we had been searching for!

We really wanted our wedding ceremony to reflect our shared spirituality and our zest for living in the moment, as that was what joined us together in the beginning. My cousin, who teaches mindfulness, officiated our wedding. She incorporated a meditation in her speech where she had everyone close their eyes and focus on feeling grounded and the love and energy surrounding the day. It was quite beautiful and extremely meaningful.

I also walked myself down the aisle, and I thought I would be quite nervous. But I actually felt really empowered. I’m not much of a traditionalist, so I never liked the idea of someone “giving me away.” It was my way of making a statement that this was my new beginning, my decision, and I was ready to start this new journey with Joey.

Joseph and I are both pretty laid back people so we knew we wanted to reflect this in our overall wedding vibe. We reflected on our favorite environment which is being in nature. We wanted everything to look and feel very organic as if we stumbled upon this magical wildflower scattered garden. This included everything from the florals to the way the wedding day flowed.

The best advice I can give to any bride planning a wedding is to trust your vendors and give them some creative freedom! I had planned this wedding from 1,000 miles away and didn’t really have time to stress over every little detail. I had a general idea of the aesthetic I wanted for my wedding, and once I established a relationship and trust with my vendors (florist, cake designer, videographer, makeup artist, beverage specialist, etc.), they were able to run wild with their creative magic, and it turned out more than I could’ve ever imagined. They are the experts, trust them!

In lieu of favors, we donated to one of our favorite animal rescues, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. We are huge animal lovers (I grew up with 7 adopted dogs) and knew we wanted to pay forward all the love we received on our day. We donated to the rescue in honor of all of our amazing guests!
