This Retro Glam Bougainvillea Estate Wedding was Inspired by Frank Sinatra and Desert Blooms

October 30, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

By now you know how we feel about floral-forward wedding decor, so it should come as no surprise that we’re freaking out over the floral designs Shindig Chic created for Nicolette and Dan’s Bougainvillea Estate wedding! We’re talking desert-inspired centerpieces accented with fresh-cut fruit, vertical floral sculptures for both the ceremony backdrop and the seating chart, and wedding party bouquets bursting with texture and color. The palette was a perfect complement to the venue’s natural landscape, which featured gardens, a pool, and, as the name suggests, bougainvillea as far as the eye can see. In addition to the stunning design, Nicolette and Dan killed it with vintage Hollywood-inspired fashion, especially Nicolette’s sexy lace Berta gown that bordered on boho chic. Needless to say, every detail of this California estate wedding deserves a second (and third) look, which is why we’re so excited the oh-so-talented Lauren Scotti captured it all!

The Couple:

Nicolette and Dan

The Wedding:

Bougainvillea Estate, Indio, California

The most important part of wedding planning for us was creating a memorable fun event that we and our family and friends would remember our whole lives. Also, reflecting our personalities and all our favorite things in the small touches.

Processional – “Higher Love” by James Vincent McMorrow
Recessional – “Jackson” by Johnny Cash
First Dance – “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges

When searching for a venue, we knew we wanted to have something outdoors that had a desert vibe and where we could do the ceremony and reception. As a bonus, we stayed on the property with the wedding party and it was such a blast!

For our wedding day fashion, we wanted to incorporate the retro glamour of the desert (think Frank Sinatra vibe) with modern, bohemian vibes. I am obsessed with all the Israeli wedding dress designers. When I found my dress, I knew it was a perfect dress to be glamorous while still modern and a bit edgy.

Daughters of Simone Bridal Designer Said “I Do” in an Epic Cali-Inspired Lake Como Wedding at Giardino del Merlo

October 29, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When cool California vibes met romantic Italian style in Ashley and Terrence’s Laka Como wedding, the result was nothing short of spectacular! The bride, who is a designer for the renowned Daughters of Simone, and her groom spared no expense and left no detail unattended for their special day. After the sweetest first look captured by Lilly Red Creative, the couple and their guests made their way to the cliffside location in Giardino del Merlo for a ceremony with both a stunning view of the water and boho-inspired florals created by Christine Cater that blended seamlessly with the natural, rugged landscape. Then it was off to Villa Camilla for a poolside reception filled with charcuterie, Italian sweets, and vintage-meets-boho lounge areas that created a relaxed yet elegant vibe. Of course, the true showstoppers of the day were Ashley’s off-the-shoulder Daughters of Simone gown and the bridesmaids’ frocks and pearl capes, which she worked on in collaboration with Leave Her Wilder for debut at this incredible affair. As you can imagine, this Lake Como wedding was as stylish and romantic as they come, and we’re honored to share every dreamy detail!

Woodsy Bohemian North Carolina Wedding at The Cabin Ridge

October 28, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

California chic met woodsy bohemian vibes in this unbelievably gorgeous North Carolina wedding at The Cabin Ridge! Sue and Brian pulled out all the stops for their special day, and the talented team of Cordial & Craft along with Party Envy Event Planning helped bring their vision to life. Using the classic boho macrame, cacti, succulents, pampas grass, and rugs, the team set up the sweetest outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountains. For their reception, they used a mix of vintage and rustic seating, antique china place setting, lace, eucalyptus table runners, and mismatched glassware to add a distinctly woodsy boho feel to the open-air space. They even managed to add DIY signage, nods to their favorite holiday, Cinco de Mayo, and references to Back to the Future — and made it all look wildly elegant! We’re positive we’ll be obsessing over the boho perfection Gabrielle von Heyking Photographie captured for a very long time!

The Couple:

Sue and Brian

The Wedding:

The Cabin Ridge, Hendersonville, North Carolina

Gabby, the owner of The Graham House Asheville, was the best host and her Airbnb was by far the cutest space! She was beyond accommodating to us knowing that we were having guests over for a gathering or two. Also, her space was just adorable!

The most memorable part of the entire day was our first look, during which we shared our written vows with each other.

Our best advice is to remain calm and always remember what all the wedding planning is actually for. Remember that this a day about you and your spouse-to-be — and only the two of you! Don’t focus so much on pleasing others or trying to not upset anyone. That will take a toll on not only you and your fiancé, and it’s just not worth it. Your love and the joining of two people in love is what matters most!

Cinco de Mayo is our favorite holiday, and mustaches are a staple for us when we celebrate that day. So, we gave our guests mustache party favors. We also gave them candied apples because we were married in the Hendersonville area where all of the apple orchards are located.
