If you love all things modern and Mexico, then you’re sure to fall for every detail of Allyson and Cory’s beach wedding at The Cape Hotel. The couple chose Cabo San Lucas for their destination wedding because it offered the perfect mix of relaxation, entertainment, and a beautiful environment. If their modern venue wasn’t already breathtaking enough, Allyson and Cory decided to add touches of rust and dusty rose arrangements designed by Florenta Flower Design to accent the minimalistic decor. We’re super obsessed with every photo By Amy Lynn Photography captured, including surreal ceremony views and couples portraits that will make you melt!
Everything was memorable in its own right but probably walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing Cory in front of the most drop-dead gorgeous backdrop surrounded by all of our people. It was surreal!
Wedding planning advice from the bride: R-E-L-A-X. I know everyone says that, but seriously, take the advice. It is meant to be a joyful celebration, all the little details wont matter at the end of it all BUT also have a team you trust with your vision and you’ll get the details handled regardless!
We wanted our wedding to be relaxing, memorable, vacation for our guests, with a really awesome party thrown in. Bringing them all to a beautiful destination to celebrate our union together was all we really wanted!
The design and vibe was super important to us (me, haha) and the most fun part to plan! I ultimately knew I wanted a laid-back, modern, beachy feel with eclectic details added in. The Cape had just the right mix of warmth and modern elements we were looking for so it was easy to compliment that with natural materials and pops of copper and black to keep it current. A disco ball on the dance floor was a must to get everyone moving!
After trying on easily 50 dresses (I have a VERY hard time making decisions), I tried on what I thought would be second reception look… BUT, I loved it so much I knew it was the one for the entire day. I added a long removable train for the ceremony and the look was made! The cathedral-length veil came later on after trying it just for fun. I am not a very traditional bride, but it was nice to have an element of tradition added in. The whole look just made total sense for me and was the perfect mix of funky and modern that I was looking for. Even my mom approved right then and there! I paired it all with cream-colored Chanel rosette heels and shoulder-grazing pearl drop earrings by Danielle Frankel.
We are totally in awe of Kyndall and Jake’s butterfly-inspired White Sparrow Barn wedding! Along with the help of rockstar planning team J. Scott Events, this couple went all-out with whimsical decor at every turn—from a DIY butterfly ceremony backdrop to a cake designed by Loft 22 Cakes and decorated with figurines of their pups! We can’t wait for you to see how Madison Katlin Photography captured Jake’s sweet reaction when Kyndall walked down the aisle and a killer fireworks exit. Get ready to Pin your hearts out babes, because this day is one for your inspo boards!
We created a DIY butterfly wall! It took us about 4-6 months to complete, and it was so very worth it. All of our families helped, and it was an important piece to us to have in the wedding. The wall was about 8 ft tall and 8 ft wide. It was massive! I spray painted each individual butterfly and it had about 150 of them on the wall!
My favorite photo was seeing Jake’s face when I was walking down the aisle. Capturing that moment and you just have a rush of feelings looking at it. I always said, “I hope you cry walking down the aisle!” And boy did he cry!!! That was our first time seeing each other in 24 hours. Seeing him for the first time and him crying — was just everything. I loved that we waited to see each other and chose not do a first look!
Our photographer was literally amazing! She did our engagements and we just fell in love with everything. She is a natural at her job and makes you feel super comfortable. She’s so easy to work with and literally the sweetest person!
Wedding planning advice from the bride: Stay organized! If your not an organized person then definitely get a planner who is on top of things! That’s what helped me the most! Plus I organized my Pinterest boards in different categories for each event of the wedding which was super helpful!
