This Boho Glam Excelsior Wedding Brought Moroccan Style to Lancaster

October 11, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Calling all colorful, Moroccan style lovers: Marina and Jim’s boho glam Excelsior wedding is for you! Planned Perfection helped the couple pull off their vision with literal floral perfection by Splints & Daisies, candelabras and table settings from White Glove Rentals, and more. They added seasonal blooms of vibrant colors, a magenta Persian-inspired ceremony rug, terracotta linens, and gold accents to the space that gave it a totally distinct, fun-loving look. Marina and Jim truly made their Excelsior wedding day a party from beginning to end, and Madeline Isabella Photography could not have captured it all more perfectly!

The Couple:

Marina & Jim

The Wedding:

Excelsior Lancaster, Lancaster, PA

We didn’t want to just go from one scheduled event to another. The first time seeing each other, we were both just overwhelmed with emotion. We took pictures before the ceremony so we could actually enjoy our day with our family and friends.

Wedding planning advice from the couple: Make sure that the decisions you make are based on what you and your significant other want and NOT anyone else. It is YOUR day.

We wanted something unique, this venue had vintage characteristics with modern elements. The building had different levels for each part of the day that kept it interesting. We also liked the packages they offered that included fresh, onsite catering.

I originally wanted to do a boho-glam theme, but it turned into more moroccan themed. I just wanted to be more bold with color choices.

I gave the florist a general theme, but then let her have creative freedom to do her thing, so I had no idea what the flowers were going to look like until that day! I cried the first time I saw everything, the best surprise!

Handmade and Heartfelt God’s Mountain Estate Wedding

October 10, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Steph and Rob’s God’s Mountain Estate estate wedding has us feeling like we’ve stepped into a Mediterranean villa surrounded by the most gorgeous waterfront views! Photographer duo Nomad by NK did a phenomenal job capturing the essence of this handmade and heartfelt day. The bride and groom DIY’d almost everything for their day including their bohemian teepee ceremony arch, dreamcatchers, and handwritten calligraphy signage! We also can’t get over how stunning the entire wedding party looked, with Steph wearing a low-back Made with Love Bridal dress, Rob and his men in Indochino, and the ‘maids dressed in adorable, boho Mura Boutique Australia maxi dresses. DIY bride babes, get your Pinterest boards ready, because this God’s Mountain Estate wedding day has it all and more!

The Couple:

Steph & Rob

The Wedding:

God’s Mountain Estate, Okanagan, British Columbia

Our photographers were wonderful! They did such a great job at capturing those candid moments throughout the day, while working together to get the right shot. We also felt so at ease working with them since I have known Natalie for years!

We are lake people, so it was important that found a venue that was on, or overlooking the water. We chose our wedding venue because it was so naturally stunning and we didn’t need to add many elements to it in order to make it look or feel beautiful and magical.

I liked the low back of my gown the most, and I absolutely loved my halo headpiece. It gave me the little pop of “something extra” that I wanted, while remaining understated.

SHOP THIS LOOK:

We did a lot of DIY for our wedding since I am very artistic and Rob is very handy! Our welcome sign, all wedding signage, seating plan, table numbers and name tags were all DIY, including my handwritten calligraphy. Our teepee, dreamcatcher and even our signature cocktails were also all DIY.

Much of our wedding vibe was based on our Mediterranean inspired venue, keeping the overall feel to be laidback, airy and fun, which most represents us as a couple. Our decorative style was rustic and romantic with a touch of boho. We created this look using DIY decor and signage with handwritten calligraphy, while keeping everything minimal with soft hues in order to highlight the natural beauty of our venue. Boho elements included our teepee arbor and hanging dreamcatchers at our head table.

Cozy Meets Classic in This Black and White Estate at Cherokee Dock Wedding

October 9, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Get ready for black and white inspiration for days, a cozy reception set up, and one of the sweetest first looks we’ve ever seen! Brittany and Drew’s Estate at Cherokee Dock wedding has us melting over every amazing photograph Cannon Weddings captured. We’re obsessed with Brittany’s two bridal looks — a classic Hayley Paige gown and a more lively dress from Wedding Angels Bridal for dancing all night at the reception. If you’re into elegantly neutral colors and all the soft, home-y vibes, you’ll definitely want to see how Gather and Heart Event Co set up the couple’s reception decor. We can’t wait for you to get inspired by rentals from Please be Seated and Liberty Party Rental, gorgeous florals by Blooming Hites, a jaw-dropping tier’d cookie cake by Nashville Sweets, and so much more from Brittany and Drew’s Estate at Cherokee Dock wedding!

The Couple:

Brittany & Drew

The Wedding:

The Estate at Cherokee Dock

My amazing parents, in-laws, brother, brother-in-laws, bridesmaids, and groomsmen all wrote letters to me to read before walking down the aisle. I literally cried my eyes out on some and laughed out of my chair on others. They are all my people and I’m so blessed, we are so blessed to have all of them in our lives. I love each and every one of them.

The couple’s most memorable part of the day: Our first look. Having that moment, just us, was something we will never forget. It allowed us to take in a moment in time just for us. Our first look photos were photos I’ll cherish forever and our video gave me all the feels!

Our relationships with our family and friends are very important to us. So, when picking out the venue, we wanted more of a weekend experience with the people we love. Our venue gave us that and more, since we were able to have our immediate family and wedding party all stay on the property all 4th of July weekend for the event. The Estate at Cherokee Dock has so many options so we were able to have the Rehearsal dinner and wedding at the same venue but feel like a completely different space. Not to mention, it’s a gorgeous venue with an amazing team.

I wanted something classic and timeless to wear. I actually overdress for everything, but my gown had no bearing or lace at all. It was unexpected and modern. I’m obsessed with Kendra Scott jewelry and own a lot of it! I loved my jewelry choices because I’ll wear them again and again! I also LOVED my shoes, which were open toe cobalt blue, as my something blue. My husband wrote a sweet note on them.

We wanted something that described us. We are home bodies and we had that feeling with each other. We felt and feel like we are home when we are with the other. Home is not a place but a person to us. We wanted to bring that into the wedding day. We chose to decorate with materials you build a home out of. We used light bulbs as vases and our cake topper, concrete blocks as center pieces, mini houses to hold place cards, we did family style for dinner with gourmet southern food, our logo that I designed was a home symbol, our arch was customer built as a house outline and so much more, but you get the picture.

I wanted a very neutral, modern look. So we used lots of golds, black, tans, and grays. I wanted the venue and decor to be a statement, but elegant.

My second gown was a tighter fit and more fun. It was the perfect gown to wear while Shaking my booty on the dance floor with my new hubby!
