The Couple:

Kajal & Jason

The Wedding:

Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant, Auckland, New Zealand

I bought my wedding dress at a bridal boutique in South Africa more than a year before the big day. I knew I wanted something elegant with an open back and lace that ‘crept’ onto my skin. I really loved how the boutique were able to transform my dress into something that was unique to me and exactly what I wanted. What I really loved about my dress was that it gave me the option of two different looks – romantic off the shoulder straps for the ceremony and, for the reception, straps that accented my back and allowed me to move around a bit more. I wanted the dress to shine, so my accessories were very minimal – I wore a simple pair of pear droplet earrings and a delicate diamond bracelet that Jason gifted to me on the day.

It was really important to us that our ceremony be very personal. Our processional was played by an accordionist, inspired by the street accordionist we came across and were charmed by on our first trip to Paris together. We wrote our own vows and said them to each other in French, as this is the language we discovered each other in. We also wanted to be married by someone that we knew, so we chose one of Jason‘s friends to be our celebrant. Another, moment that was very special and personal to us was our first dance. We danced to one of our favorite French ballads, played acoustically on the guitar by one of our close friends.

There are so many photo that we love—Rob did a fantastic job. We really like the photo of our first kiss and husband and wife, as it captures us sharing a very special moment in front of all of our loved ones against a stunning backdrop. We also love the one where we are walking back down the aisle together with our guests throwing petals, as it captures the joy of our special day. The photos of us on the deck at sunset are also stunning and capture a more intimate part of the day.

I wanted my bridesmaids to feel beautiful and comfortable in their dresses too so asked them to help me decide. I absolutely loved the dresses we ended up choosing, the gold really made our color palette pop and the style was flattering on everyone.

We first discovered our venue, Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant, on a trip to Waiheke Island that I had planned as a surprise for Jason‘s birthday, before we were even engaged. We absolutely fell in love with the venue’s European aesthetic. We adored the mud brick buildings and creeping vines, and the view from the ceremony location made a stunning natural background. The venue itself was gorgeous, and didn’t need a lot of ‘dressing up’.

My husband and I met in France, so we really wanted our wedding to embody and celebrate our French beginnings. Therefore, settling on a theme was really easy for us. We chose a romantic, elegant French inspired theme with a neutral color palette.

Anna and Igor’s effortlessly beautiful waterfall elopement in Bali has captivated our hearts! We’re absolutely blown away by the beauty of their ceremony backdrop both the florals WedBali created for a perfect circle arch to the natural beauty of the water flowing behind them. This couple’s style also fit the day so perfectly with Anna looking stunning in a boho Rara Avis gown with hints of color and Igor’s all-white casual groom style. If you’ve ever dreamed of an adventure elopement somewhere picturesque, these photos by Borodenok Olga & Vladimir will drive you wild!

The Couple:

The Wedding:

Tibumana Waterfall, Bali, Indonesia

We couldn’t have imagined it better. Ceremony at the waterfall around the jungle birds singing water noise, an insanely beautiful arch of fresh flowers in the background, the whole atmosphere, the color in which we plunged, it is simply impossible to express in words. It was a magical day for us.

The most important thing about wedding planning for us was to choose the right wedding agency. Now we understand this more than ever, because the subsequent choice of the location of the ceremony, the photographer and videographer took place with their direct participation. Thanks to the advice and professional opinion of WedBali, we were able to choose the best photographers and videographer for our wedding. Despite the distance of 10000 kilometers, completely trusting WedBali, on the day of the wedding ceremony, everything was organized to the smallest detail.

Working with the organizer Alice was a pleasure, despite the time difference, she was always in touch, helped, advised, and always told us, “Trust our agency, we will make a celebration for you that you will remember for a lifetime, we were required to relax and enjoy the process.” And we fully trusted the organizer and the team of real professionals. We did not regret for a second that we applied to this agency, on the day of the ceremony we only enjoyed the fairy tale created for us. We had two photographers Vladimir and Olga, we are delighted with them, great guys and super professionals, it was a pleasure to work with them. And we can not fail to mention our videographer Alexander, only his work hooked us more than all of the proposed videographers in Bali. He has a certain style in his work. We were hooked.

It was such a special moment to connect together alone before the ceremony started. It definitely brought our nerves at ease and gave us some time before the busy day to have an intimate moment together.

We had custom made maracas on every seat at the ceremony for everyone to shake at the kiss. They were hand painted with our names and wedding date on them.

Our ceremony was very special to us. It was in a small area of the villa with beautiful flowers and our sister in law sang ‘Stay With You’ by John Legend as I walked down the aisle with my father. Ricardo‘s sister gave us away and she wrote a really beautiful speech to us before we exchanged personalized vows – we had everyone crying by the end of them!

Creare & Co created an unforgettable day for us. We went to San Miguel once before our wedding to meet with them, so the rest was done via phone. Maye Cordova Eventos created incredible dishes for our wedding as well as our pool party the day after the wedding. Gabriela (our florist) created out of this world flower arrangements that just blew my mind.

No one knew about the callejoneada. We made sure to let everyone know that the streets were cobblestone so it was best that to wear comfortable/flat shoes. After the ceremony, everyone took a celebratory shot of tequila and we all started to walk outside the venue to meet the band and puppets. You could see the confusion on everyone’s faces and once we reached the band and puppets you could see the excitement of their faces.

We found these beautiful villas throughout San Miguel but the grounds at Casa Chorro were just incredible. The backyard was large enough to fit everything from the ceremony to reception and pool celebration.

Gabriela is absolutely incredible and she creates these insane flower arrangements from her home garden in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. I didn’t even know what kind of flowers we were having until the day of the wedding! So for all the other decorations, we went with neutrals – wood tables, white papel picado (traditional Mexican hanging tissue paper), white maracas, grey and white plates with traditional silverware and white candles. The colorful flowers added the perfect touch to the neutral decorations!
