The Couple: Tamara and Isaac

The Wedding: 9.6.09 – San Francisco City Hall, California

What three adjectives that best describe your wedding? Elegant, classic, romantic.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? Isaac and I knew we would be planning a big wedding given the extent of our family and friends and we wanted to create a celebration that would truly embody who we are. We really wanted our guests to experience our love and the fun we have in our beloved San Francisco. The moment we walked into San Franciscos magnificent City Hall and saw the Rotunda stairs, we knew we had our venue. It was the perfect backdrop for the classic wedding we envisioned. Everything else, including the elegant dinner service and Art Deco Nightclub decor, just fell into place perfectly!

Because our wedding was on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, we knew we had the whole three day weekend to work with. On Saturday, we arranged for a full day of wine tasting for forty of our friends who traveled from all over the world to celebrate with us. We also enjoyed a lovely picnic at Diamond Oaks Winery, where Isaac had proposed to me. It was such beautiful day and it meant so much to Isaac and me to have this extra time with our friends.

For our rehearsal dinner, we chose Yank Sing, a famous San Francisco dim sum and Chinese restaurant, as its one of our favorite spots. The family style banquet created a totally casual vibe before our Black Tie wedding and the night was filled with clever toasts and laughter.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? One of our favorite surprises at the wedding was the divine pistachio cake with strawberry chantilly cream filling that we chose from Elegant Cheesecakes. Besides being delicious, our guests were totally shocked by the green cake when we cut into it!

We also wanted to reward those of our guests who made it to the final hour of dancing…so we served hot In N Out burgers paired with strawberry milkshakes. They were an absolute hit!

Isaac and I truly loved every moment of our wedding. We both agree, however, that the ceremony was beyond special. Our Rabbi completely captured the warmth and love that we feel for each other and our delight in our marriage.

What was your wedding color palette? Ivory, peach, silver and sage.

Painting Together – A Creative Engagement Shoot!

What’s that saying? The couple that plays together, stays together? Well it sure looks to be the case with these super creative engagement photos of couple Zach and Katie by Colorado wedding photographer Zachary Girson of Zudio Photography. Zach, Katie and Zachary headed out to Red Rock Canyon State Park to paint their way through their engagement shoot, and ended up with some really sweet and playful images. Photographer Zack asked the couple to write one thing they loved about the other on his or her back, and neither would know what the other painted until they saw their finished photos. How adorable that it ended up being the same thing, and what a great way to approach an engagement shoot!

Fall 2011 Martha Stewart Weddings magazine cover

For anyone who loves weddings, it’s always a blissfully happy day when the newest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine hits the newsstands! The Fall 2011 issue out now is as beautiful and inspirational as ever, and extra special in my opinion since it’s their “Fashion Issue.” Swoon! For the mag, the Martha Stewart team put together an incredible photo shoot that not only showcased spectacular wedding dresses, but the wedding dress designers themselves. To introduce you to these amazing artists and to show you a bit of what goes into this kind of production, they sent over a really fun behind the scenes video that we’re excited to get to share right here. Enjoy!
