What was your wedding color palette?Colorless. Woods, lights and taupe.
What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?Thank God for Pinterest, I would have never known I had a theme until I started my wedding pinterest board. Soo….rustic elegance? I just like a lot of wood and branches and candles….no colors or glitter or hot pink bridesmaid dresses!
Were there any special additions to your ceremony that made it unique? When our officiant Chris asked us to turn around and take a good look at everyone there to celebrate us, and he asked everyone to hold out their hands and wave them around in an expression of love. He said he totally winged that. It was incredible! I’m so glad we had a moment to look out and focus on every utterly amazing person who was there celebrating our love and commitment. I mean really, we knew and wholeheartedly loved every single person there. It was pretty ridiculous. We have the best friends and family in the world.
Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? It all went by in such a whirl, it’s hard to remember a “moment”. Our vows were perfect. Everyone told me afterwards that I was bouncing on my toes the whole time – I didn’t realize that until I saw the video footage. I loved having a brief few minutes with Elijah after the wedding to take a few shots of whiskey and talk about how happy we were. I think we high fived and kissed about 10 times before going out there and high fiving and kissing everyone else.
What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? The best piece of advice I got prior to the wedding was to take a moment with just the two of us and stand back and watch everyone. We actually did this a few times throughout the night and it really helped everything stick in our brains. We kept hearing how quickly the night was going to go by, so we tried to savor every single moment. Which worked pretty well until I started ordering whiskey shots from the middle of the dance floor!
As spring blooms more and more each day, I find myself craving vibrant color palettes that feel full of life! I recently saw this lovely wedding invitation set below, from Claremont Collection by Curious and Co., and it got my imagination racing. What a gorgeous spring wedding this purple, fuchsia and gold wedding color combo would create!
