Bright and Colorful Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico

Nothing says paradise like a beautiful destination wedding bursting with color on the Mayan Riviera. Chezlie and Joey wanted to create a wedding that celebrated both their love for each other and their love for sandy shores and sunshine. With gorgeous lace and floral details and a wonderfully bright color palette, Chezlie and Joey’s vibrant wedding was photographed beautifully by Zasil Studio.

The Inspiration: When we first began talking about the kind of wedding we wanted, we knew that it was important to us to be fun, classic, “easy like Sunday morning”, intimate, and beautiful. We wanted to create an event where we could celebrate our love for each other and the family we have created with a party filled with love, joy and laughter. I am obsessed with the ocean, and when I moved from Los Angeles back to Utah for gaduate school it was hard to leave the beach. I always miss that calming effect that sun, sand, a soft breeze and a drink with an umbrella in it can create. Getting married on the beach was my number one priority, plus with a destination wedding I knew that we could get all that time to spend with our loved ones and really have a wedding weekend celebration.

The best metaphor I came up with was the look was inspired by an old cathedral, where heavy, dark, rustic woods are accompanied with intricate metals, lots of color, lace and candlelight. The color palette included royal blue, terra cotta red, dark orange, gold, dark wood, and ivory. I wanted a lot of candlelight so the tables were filled with candles, candles in the pool and a lot of ambient lighting.

Fun and Magical English Wedding at Aynhoe Park

Alix and Matt knew one thing for certain when they began planning their wedding; they wanted their guests to be entertained and relaxed, without an ounce of boredom. Their vision was perfectly suited for the delightful British countryside venue of Aynhoe Park. Guests spent their time exploring rooms simply overflowing with secrets and surprises; including a giant polar bear, a giraffe in a top hat and disco balls mingling with ancient sculptures. With no lack of fun photo backdrops, Marianne Taylor Photography captured Alix and Matt’s colorful and playful day with such beauty, you will be grinning as widely as their guests.

The Inspiration: We wanted to create a party where everyone felt special and, more importantly, relaxed enough to have fun. I also wanted it to feel very fluid so that people didn’t get bored or end up waiting around for too long. I also wanted to include my friends and family in everything so my sister and best friend did readings which they had written themselves, and my friends and family baked cakes for our cake table.

Urban Chic Wedding Inspiration Photo Shoot at Seattle’s WithinSodo

Brought to us by Seattle photographer Nikki Closser and designer and event planner Holly Patton of Perfectly Posh Events, this fabulous, urban chic wedding inspiration photo shoot brings a touch of sparkle to the edgy, industrial setting of WithinSodo. Such a great style combination!

Photographer Nikki Closser shared with us a few thoughts with us about the inspiration for the design and how the team successfully pulled off their industrial style photo shoot…

The Inspiration: We were inspired by the challenge of mixing something delicate and feminine with something raw and rough. WithinSodo, located in the gritty, industrial area of Seattle, served as the ideal location to bring this concept to life. We loved the idea of transforming an industrial area into a chic, romantic, flirty setting while keeping with the urban flare!

The Look: The industrial feel of the metal and brick walls at WithinSodo accompanied by a swoon-worthy raspberry vintage couch helped us achieve the urban chic style that we were aiming for. To balance the bold elements of the space, we kept the bride’s gown and the groom’s suit simple, clean and timeless with a modern touch. Our fashion-forward bride chose a modern-cut gown for the ceremony with a bandeau veil adorned with crystals and stunning jewelry, followed by a flirty pink flower hair wrap for the reception and a ending the night in an adorable raspberry cocktail dress for the after-party!

The Design: In the reception space, the table design was kept sleek and contemporary using grey linens and modern dishes with pops of raspberry and sparkle! Lush and colorful centerpieces in concrete vessels accompanied by raspberry Glassybaby candles infused the space with modern romance. All the details were adorned with a little bit of bling; from the bride and groom chair signs, to the escort cards, to the miniature sparkly bottles of bubbly that the guests enjoyed as favors. The invitation suite even had a little bit of sparkle with a romantic script and modern design!
