Wedding Lighting Inspiration Board

November 14, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

From twinkle lights illuminating the trees to a fun LOVE marquee at your reception, the lighting design for your wedding can help create the atmosphere you envisioned for your day. A romantic, rustic, or modern theme can all be carried through using different lighting options. Because there are so many creative ways to incorporate light, we’re sharing wedding lighting inspiration from some of our favorite Junebug real weddings.

Hang glass in your choice of shape from the ceiling or tree branches for an intimate light source. Line the rafters of your venue with strings of twinkle lights for a romantic starry night effect. Wrap delicate light strands around the wooden columns of your dining area for a rustic look. Don’t forget a personalized marquee for a quirky modern accent. The wedding lighting inspiration is endless!

Rustic Mountain Wedding Inspiration

November 14, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

We’ve noticed a trend in our real weddings that couples are loving mountain weddings. Our lovely couples and their talented wedding professionals have done a spectacular job providing rustic mountain wedding inspiration for our readers, so here are some tried and true tips for planning your own mountain affair with rustic flair.

Swap out your heels for boots. A mountain wedding requires quite a bit of trekking through the elements, so you’ll want a pair of sturdy shoes that won’t dig into the dirt with every step. Cute boots are both practical and fits the theme of your rustic affair.

Choose a picturesque ceremony location. Mountain regions are known for their brilliant landscape, so set you ceremony in a spot that will make an extraordinary backdrop for your vows and your wedding photos.

Mimic the mountain nature in your decor. The flora and fauna in the surroundings of your venue are the perfect inspiration for your wedding decorations. We love the gold painted animals as a part of the centerpieces, and the leaves pulled from the natural surroundings included in the bridal bouquet.

Contrast the dark earthy tones with a light color palette. Creating a rustic look is all about mixing textures and using contrasting elements, so choose a feminine color palette with soft garden roses or delicate peonies.

Don’t be afraid of adventure. Sometimes getting the perfect shot requires a little bit of courage and a sense of adventure. Climbing, kneeling, and jumping may all be part of the job in order to capture the unforgettable moment you’ll always cherish.

The Inspiration: “The wedding was inspired by the beautiful natural setting of the venue. The decor theme was vintage inspired with lots of wildflowers!

The Moments: “The wedding was beautiful from beginning to end. My favourite moments were when Rik was crying during our vows and my younger cousin ran up to give him a tissue, and when we walked in to the barn for the first time with all of our guests and feeling nothing but love!

The Couple Recommends: “We fell in love with the beautiful natural setting of South Pond Farms instantly and booked it within minutes of our first visit. South Pond did not disappoint, from the beautiful rolling hills to the historic barn and outdoor bake oven cooking up fresh pizza during cocktail hour. The staff and owners were all wonderful to work with. Our decor and floral planner, Paige Lewis, is amazingly talented and we was so happy to have her bring together the wedding vision. Finally, our photographer Ash Nayler was efficient and relaxed all at once. Her experience helped ease any wedding day stress and allowed us to enjoy the moments we could steal just the two of us, in the fields, taking our photos.

We always love being able to share talented videography, and Agatha Rowland of Ash Nayler did an extraordinary job telling Clare and Rik’s wedding story.
