Intimate Destination Wedding off the Amalfi Coast

January 10, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Wedding Photographer Amalfi Italy2 Brides Photography. Elopement in Italy.

As if the Amalfi Coast weren’t gorgeous enough on its own, stylish couple Kirsten and Avi dressed to the nines for their intimate destination wedding. Kirsten’s gown is unlike anything we’ve seen, and the intricate lace beautifully mimics the stacked structures across the hills of the coast. Exceptional photographer Isabelle Hasselberg of 2 Brides Photography captured the couple in pure bliss as they celebrated their romantic and adventurous elopement by the sea.

The Couple:

Kirsten and Avi

The Wedding:

Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Inspiration:

Firstly, we ‘eloped’…our friends and family knew we were getting married but it was just the two of us. We have never been to Positano so it was an adventure. It was a little bohemian, a little Italian chic. I ordered my dress online – I loved that it was classic and slightly old fashioned.

The Moments:

Keep in mind, it just the two of us so we it wasn’t very ‘traditional’ from the get-go. My favorite moment was in the hotel suite at Le Sirenuse (divine hotel) before the ceremony. I was getting my make-up done and Avi was just hanging out with me in our beautiful suite drinking champers, listening to music and reminiscing about how we met. It was very casual, real and authentic to who we are as a couple.

Event Planning – Italian Wedding Event
Ceremony Venue – Commune di Postiano

A special thank you to 2 Brides Photography for sharing this exquisite elopement with Junebug. For more destination wedding inspiration, be sure to check out JR and Randy’s gorgeous Italian castle wedding.

Colorful Waterfront Wedding Photographed by Gabe McClintock

January 9, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Colorful-Backyard-Party-Gabe-McClintock-32

Beth and Ben’s wedding is made up of a few of our favorite things: epic views of Australia, barbecue, and Gabe McClintock‘s photography. Everything about their wedding day is absolutely incredible, from a backyard party style celebration to waterfront portraits as newlyweds. We’re especially in love with the delightfully vintage table decor and the berry-topped naked cake baked by Beth’s lovely sister-in-law.

The Couple:

Beth and Ben

The Wedding:

The Oasis Eco Retreat, Port Stephens, New South Wales

The Inspiration:

I am a wedding photographer so I see a lot of ideas and themes but I knew that we wanted to just represent ourselves and our family, keep it simple and comfortable. We had an amazing stylist who I am now lucky enough to count as a friend, who had the most incredible ideas. I told her a few things I didn’t like then said I trusted her to style the event however she wanted. And it was perfect. Better than we could’ve imagined.

What we wore just happened and thankfully it worked well together. I bought my dress online from America for $300 and had it altered, the girls dresses were chosen so they could still maintain their individuality and I let Ben choose the suits for him and the boys.

The Moments:

Being walked down the aisle by my father and eldest child, hearing one of my oldest friends singing and playing guitar for us, then reaching Ben and seeing tears in his eyes. He isn’t an overly emotional guy and seeing that was the best.

The Couple Recommends:

Everybody that was involved was so good. But there are a couple we were blown away by. Firstly, Gabe was amazing. We were so grateful to him for travelling the distance he did, from Canada to Australia, to be our photographer. His work is amazing and so is he. He made us feel comfortable and the images are beyond anything we could’ve ever hoped for.

Second, the amazing husband and wife team from Visually Creative. Alison is one of the most talented creatives I have ever met and her styling made our wedding day absolutely perfect. I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted, only what I didn’t like. I left the rest up to her an she absolutely nailed it. She teamed up with my talented girlfriend Amber for the florals and were just amazing. We cannot thank both of these vendors enough.

Modern Log Cabin Inspired San Francisco Wedding

January 9, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Catherine + Chika 2014

As 2015 settles in, modern vintage is becoming one of our favorite wedding styles of the year. Nothing compares to vintage romance, and when paired with contemporary elements and clean lines, the wedding album is guaranteed to be breathtaking. Catherine and Chika’s San Francisco wedding was held at a log cabin, which is pretty much the coolest venue we can think of. Photographer Madeline Druce captured the most captivating images of the impeccable wedding styling, as well as the lovely and dark wedding portraits of the newlyweds in the nearby greenery.

The Couple:

Catherine and Chika

The Wedding:

The Prisidio Log Cabin, San Francisco, California

The Inspiration:

We had a vintage modern log cabin wedding. The flowers were blush, peach, reds and cream, and the bridesmaid dresses were navy.

The Moments:

The ceremony itself was my absolute favorite part of the day. It was breathtaking to walk down the aisle with my dad with the view of San Francisco behind all of our guests that came from near and far to take part in our day. Standing with my husband saying our vows to each other is a moment I’ll never forget.

My favorite part of the decor was the light box my husband built to hold our escort cards. The escort cards were vintage slides of bay area urban and nature images.

The Couple Recommends:

All of our vendors were excellent. Our photographers were patient, professional and took the most gorgeous pictures. Our coordinator was organized made every detail turn out just right. The paella was delicious, the DJs played a great selection of soul tunes on vinyl, and the flowers were just amazing.
