When two sides of the world meet for a wedding, it’s a beautiful thing. Karen and Roshan envisioned a fusion of their Indian and Western cultures to create a lovely and thoughtful wedding on the beach of Cape Cod. New England photographers Bethany & Dan perfectly captured the Indian fusion wedding in all of its personality and elegance.
The idea of fusion was very important to us. Rather than have separate Indian and Western parts of our wedding, we wanted to merge our cultures in every way possible. From the ceremony, to the menu, to the music, to the attire, we wanted to incorporate both Indian and Western elements in everything. India meets Cape Cod.
The Moments:
Roshan: My favorite moment was the morning of the wedding, when we made the rounds of visiting family and friends on the beach and at their hotels. It was so much fun to see everyone in such a laid-back setting. It was also perfect September beach weather.
Karen: The toasts were my favorite part. Our parents and brothers all spoke, and hit the perfect combination of funny stories and loving support.
The Couple Recommends:
Our photographers, Bethany and Dan Cox were amazing. They were incredibly organized throughout the process and their pictures speak for themselves. In addition, they were a ton of fun, and knew how to keep us relaxed and upbeat.
DJ Milin was also very professional and organized, and kept everyone dancing through the night. He had no issue with the multiple sound setups both indoors and outdoors.
We did not hire a separate event planner, because the coordinators at the Wychmere Beach Club were so thorough. Karen Rood, specifically, went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect.
Our design team was phenomenal – we hired local Cape vendors and they managed the fusion Indian look beautifully. Judy Fligg at All About Flowers managed to put together a perfect mandap (traditional altar) as well as gorgeous table settings. My hair and makeup team from Artworx got the look just right to work for both the ceremony and the reception.
Finally, Woodside Press is a traditional letterpress printing studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The owner, Andy Birsh, is a good friend, and their workmanship is fantastic. They accommodated our many requests, and we were floored by the attention to detail and the quality of the finished product. It’s worth even just to visit their studio, which is like stepping back in time.
A special thanks to Bethany & Dan Photography for sharing Karen and Roshan’s stunning Indian fusion wedding with Junebug. Planning a multicultural wedding? Get more inspiration from Thanh and Jon’s beautiful seaside Halifax wedding.
Being a group of Texas girls, we can’t help but love featuring weddings from the Lone Star state. Lauren and John’s glamorous rustic wedding at Thistle Springs Ranch was inspired by the couple’s love of travel, using vintage post cards from around the world on each table at their reception. The exceptional Bradford Martens Photography was the perfect choice for capturing Lauren and John’s wedding, as Bradford’s style shines with natural elements, neutral color palettes, and sentimental moments. These images are absolutely captivating, and the contrast between dark and light will take your breath away.
Since we are both passionate about seeing the world, we incorporated a lot of travel-themed elements: vintage globes, maps, suitcases. I went with neutral hues that would blend well with the green landscape and the wooden barn on the ranch.

Willie at Divine Catering was so, SO great at helping us pick our menu at a great price and the food was incredibly delicious. Finally, Ray Borden had such great energy and really knew how to cater the music to the crowd and to the mood.
