Rustic Brewery Wedding in Northern England

With a rustic theme in mind, Kate and Neil fell in love with High House Farm Brewery and planned their dream wedding centered around the open barn. The vintage English styling of the bride and the groom, along with the newly-painted VW bus, made for the perfect balance between rustic and elegant. Brilliant photographer Paul Santos put his creative lens to work in capturing incredibly artistic and emotional moments throughout the wedding day.

The Couple:

Kate and Neil

The Wedding:

High House Farm Brewery, Northumberland, England

The Inspiration:

Ideally we wanted an intimate, rustic wedding, and liked the idea of getting married outdoors. We spent a while searching for a suitable venue but nothing matched our vision (or budget). Luckily, we were recommended to High House Farm in Northumberland by our good friend who had recently attended a wedding there. High House Farm not only boasts a beautiful barn, open on three sides, but also has a brewery attached. Neil was particularly excited about the brewery and we were able to choose our own wedding ale which was available to guests on the day. As the surroundings were so picturesque, we wanted to have as much of the day outside as possible; this can be difficult in October but we were just extremely lucky with the weather which made it all the more special! My bridesmaid, Hayley, and her husband lent us their newly-painted VW camper van for the day which quickly became the centre of attention and matched the theme wonderfully.

The Moments:

Neil‘s favourite moment was right after the ceremony when we were walking back down the aisle together as man and wife, covered in confetti. I think he was more relieved that he hadn’t fainted or fluffed his lines! My favourite moment was probably our first dance – I forgot for those minutes that we were in a room full of people. It was just a beautiful moment that I’ll remember forever.

The Couple Recommends:

We would highly recommend Paul Santos, our photographer. Not only did he capture the beauty of the day, but he brought his own vision to the photographs which were more beautiful than we could have imagined. He was very accommodating on the day, making sure we got all of the shots we wanted and trying some exciting set ups like us inside/in front of the camper van on a dark country lane! He was extremely professional but also did an excellent job of relaxing our wedding day nerves.

We’d also like to thank all at High House Farm, particularly Heather, for their assistance, organisation and reassurance on the day as well as leading up to the wedding.

Casual Engagement Inspiration from Lisbon

Lisbon engagement inspiration

Sightseeing, street art, and a golden sunset in Lisbon, Portugal were a few of the activities on Catarina and Pedro’s romantic and casual engagement session. The pair adventured around the beautiful city stopping in graffiti-clad doorways and under streetlights to kiss and embrace with the camera following just behind. Photographer Maceij Suwalowski followed right behind the sweet couple, capturing all of the breathtaking moments.

Marfa, Texas Wedding at the Capri Lounge

March 10, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Marfa-Texas-Wedding-Capri-Lounge-Kristi-Wright (14 of 44)

After three proposals (yes, three! And three rings!), Casey and Will were married at the Capri Lounge in Marfa, Texas. The West Texas wedding was inspired by the simple and effortless desert surroundings, with cacti as centerpieces and an aloe plant cake topper. Kristi Wright Photography captured every breathtaking moment, from the spontaneous ceremony rainbow to the first dance with the couple’s favorite song by their favorite band.

The Couple:

Casey and Will

The Wedding:

Capri Lounge, Marfa, Texas

The Inspiration:

Marfa is one of our favorite vacation destinations, and we love the stark beauty of the town and its surroundings. We wanted to create a wedding that reflected that quality. We tried to keep the decor simple, especially considering we had to transport most of it from Austin.

The Proposal:

Will proposed three times with three rings. The first proposal was back at Barton Springs. Will coaxed me out of the house late one cold November night and convinced me to hop the fence for a “late night swim.” As steam rose from the water, he proposed and we celebrated with a quick, cold dip. The second proposal was a few weeks later as we danced to one of our favorite bands, Ramsay Midwood, who would later play at our wedding. As we were twirling he slipped the ring on my finger and whispered in my ear. The third proposal was at my parents’ farm in North Carolina right before Christmas. I always thought I would get married on the farm and he wanted to make sure that at least a portion of the proposal happened there. Now I have three pretty rings, each with a sweet memory attached.

The Moments:

Definitely the dance floor. Ranking number one was our first dance — “Home In Your Heart” by Solomon Burke. It was so much fun to spin around, get down, and shake it out with Will. Ramsay and his band ended up playing late into the night, and everyone was cutting loose and having a blast.

The Couple Recommends:

Jeff was the best – he made everything we needed from the website to the tote bags and it all came out exactly as we had hoped and described. Always great to work with someone who knows what you want and makes it all so nicely.

Kristi Wright did a wonderful job photographing the weekend’s events and we are so happy to have so many great photos to remind us of all of the fun.
