Charming Vintage Spanish Wedding

March 15, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Charming-Vintage-Spanish-Wedding (20 of 29)

Chris and Maria envisioned a classically beautiful wedding that would incorporate traditions from both of their families. Their gorgeous Spanish wedding at Castillo de La Arguijuela in Cáceres, Spain showcased a simple, vintage elegance. White florals with touches of pink beautifully dressed the historic stone walls of the castle. Engaging in the amazing scenery, photographer Jesus Caballero expertly captured the couple sharing sweet moments around the venue.

The Couple:

Chris and Maria

The Wedding:

Castillo de La Arguijuela, Cáceres, Spain

The Inspiration:

We wanted a classical and elegant wedding with an outdoor ceremony and reception. As we are both from countries with very strong traditions, we wanted to mix the best of both our worlds to preserve those traditions, so that our multicultural guests could celebrate together with us and understand our story. We printed refined mass leaflets that were translated into English and Spanish and placed witty translated phrases on the tables to help guests from different cultures get to know each other.

The venue was the 15th century Castillo de la Arguijuela outside the city of Cáceres and the ceremony was celebrated outside a small chapel adjacent to the Castle. We wanted warm romantic colours, slightly vintage, that would fit well outdoor within an historic setting. The ceremony was in the evening and the reception took place under the moonlight in the impressive Castle grounds. We chose this venue so that the guests arriving from abroad could witness the amazing settings and food from this part of Spain.

To continue with the elegant theme, Maria arrived at the chapel in a chauffeur driven vintage Albaycin car to a duet of a Violinist and Pianist playing songs that meant something to both of us and our families.
Maria‘s dress was from Rosa Clará, it was a romantic style with lace and tulle in ecru white, while Chris wore a single-breasted navy-blue suit from Austin Reed with a bespoke waistcoat, a pink textured tie and wine coloured shoes by Kurt Geiger.

The Moments:

It is not easy to pick just one moment as our memory is full of great ones, but if we had to pick one we both agreed that it was our last song. We asked the DJ to play the song we had chosen for our first dance to end the night, everyone crossed hands around us and since they knew the lyrics from before, they all got involved, ending the night on a real high.
But overall, we really enjoyed the general atmosphere, dining outside at night time with the imposing castle behind us and seeing all the guests communicating with each other throughout the day, even though they didn’t speak the same language.

The Couple Recommends:

Jesus Caballero is a talented photographer based in London, Lisbon and Barcelona. He was very flexible throughout the wedding process, he was able to come to London for a pre-wedding session and also to Spain for the ceremony. He was able to capture the day beautifully and got all the guests involved. He was very passionate about the photos and making sure all guests were comfortable in front of the camera.

Laid Back Palm Springs Wedding

March 15, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Laid-Back-Palm-Springs-Wedding (21 of 33)

After making a spontaneous life decision, agreeing to move 1500 miles away to San Diego with Shane, Haley knew she had found the one. Soon, a proposal came, and the couple started planning their fun party wedding, which was fully equipped with cotton candy, BBQ, a tower of doughnuts, balloons, gold glitter, and dogs. The Frederick Loewe Estate was the perfect place to have their perfect, spring colored outdoor wedding. Let’s Frolic Together expertly captured the sweet new moments the couple spent as husband and wife.

The Couple:

Haley and Shane

The Wedding:

Frederick Loewe Estate, Palm Springs, California

The Inspiration:

The biggest inspiration for our wedding was our appreciation of a good party! We really wanted to plan a celebration that reflected our personalities and was full of things we love…family, friends, cotton candy, dogs, BBQ and a little gold glitter. It sounds crazy, but it totally worked. It was intimate, relaxed and so much fun, but still had a good dose of that Palm Springs’ glamor. The Frederick Loewe Estate is so stunning that it was easy to plan a dreamy desert party for our guests to enjoy. With a ton of help from my mom and my girlfriends, we made almost all of the décor ourselves. A good mix of soft desert colors, gold accents and a few flamingoes complimented the mid-century architecture of the estate perfectly! We also wanted our clothes to reflect the feel we were going for. Simple, modern and comfortable with a little sparkle. We both felt great and were able to eat, drink and dance the night away. It was just what we wanted.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment happened at the beginning of our ceremony. After everyone had taken their seats, our officiant told us to take a moment and look around before he began. To look at all of the people that had come together to celebrate and support our love for each other. He told us to stop and really take it all in. Our guests were all smiles and cheers as we looked out. It was truly amazing. I will never forget the overwhelming feeling of joy I had while looking around to see everyone I love in the same place, while holding the hands of the man I was about to marry. It was magic.

The Couple Recommends:

Liz with W.E.D. was our day of coordinator and she was amazing! We couldn’t have pulled it off without her. She was extremely organized and easy to work with. Jasmine with Let’s Frolic Together is truly an amazing photographer. Her photos are just stunning and she made us feel so comfortable. She captured our day in such a beautiful way. I cannot recommend her enough! Marisa Ramirez is a hair and makeup genius! She is so talented, and really took the time to understand what I wanted. Dreamy Bridal Inspiration in the Snow by A Fist Full of Bolts

March 14, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

A Fist Full of Bolts

Winter weddings always look so magical with their perfect snowy white backgrounds and deep romantic colors. Wishing to encapsulate the breathtaking aspects of winter, an incredible team collaborated to produce this stunning styled shoot at the Cashmere Museum in Cashmere, Washington. The concept designer, Oak & Cypress Weddings, used a gorgeous mix of elegant glamour and natural, rustic aspects to create this awe-inspiring wedding inspiration. A Fist Full of Bolts expertly captured the beautiful design, producing truly astonishing photos.

Here’s a little insight about the shoot from planner and designer Amanda Rose at Oak & Cypress Weddings:

I love the stark Washington winters. They hold a special and innate beauty that is both enduring and exquisite. In conceptualizing “Loretta, I Love You,” I hoped to marry these aspects through couture glamour and rustic simplicity. I was determined to find the right locations for the shoot and when a friend offered her parent’s Wenatchee hillside acreage and I unearthed the Cashmere Pioneer Museum through an exhaustive internet search, our concept became reality.

We began to envision a story of a young bride that is tied to her heritage and her home. In every element of the design we honored local craftsmanship – the organic linen, the handmade, ceramic plate ware, artisan wooden boxes and handmade paper. We wanted the decor and florals to be a humble and a harmonious extension of the environment itself.

It was important to me that I worked with a team that were each artists in their own right and I could trust their artistic license to enhance our shared vision. With every wedding and styled shoot, I only hope to set a course, provide vision and support them in their craft.
