Vintage Italian Film Inspired Bridal Shoot

Italy is home to one of the world’s greatest fashion capitals and the romantic aesthetic of the country is distinct and unparalleled. At its heart, Italian culture is born out of an appreciation for art and love, which can be said to be two sides of the same coin. This positively captivating bridal inspiration uses architecture, color, texture, and romance to portray a modern bride in the style of a vintage Italian film actress that is so recognizable still today.

Here is what master photographer Cinzia Bruschini had to say about the insight for this shoot:

The medieval hill town of Santo Stefano is an ancient small village situated in the mountains of Abruzzo. Recently it has become a diffused hotel and the conservation work has been done respecting the intimacy of its peasant origin. When I have discovered it I have immediately understood that it was the ideal place for my project. The poetic quality of walls of stone, the buildings and the signs of the time have brought my soul to the ancient times and the magic atmosphere that I have breathed in those alleys has immediately made me think of the traditional Italian wedding.

The inspiration of this work has come from the vision of a lot of Italian black and white movies and Patrick Casey’s dresses have been perfect for this project because they have an elegance out of time. A small anecdote: It was March and it snowed! The model Lucrezia was fantastic, dipped in that grey and amazing atmosphere.

Blush and Ivory Wedding at Windows on the Water

April 30, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Blush-Ivory-Wedding-Windows-on-the-Water-Michelle-Arlotta (8 of 25)

Katie and Todd’s blush and ivory wedding at Windows on the Water was an utterly glamorous affair. Katie’s soft, flowing bouquet, her bridesmaids’ mismatched ivory dresses, and crystal headpiece are just a few of the feminine elements that transformed the Sea Bright celebration into a romantic fairy tale wedding. Michelle Arlotta Photography beautifully captured these details and the intimate moments shared between the newlyweds on their wedding day.

The Couple:

Katie and Todd

The Wedding:

Windows on the Water, Sea Bright, New Jersey

The Inspiration:

I am a collector of antiques; I love old things and timeless looks. I knew I wanted my girls to be in pale colors and I incorporated lace wherever I could. I mostly went for an ivory and gold theme and counted on my pale pink flowers to provide some pop. I wanted everything to look soft, romantic and classic. I wanted a sophisticated but simple look at the same time.

The Moments:

Marrying the love of my life was my favorite moment. The day and night go by in a flash and it is hard to get your footing throughout the day. It ends up being kind of one big memory instead of a bunch of little memories but at that one point in the day where everything stops and you get to stand there with the one person who is having the exact same day you are and really take in why you are there and what is happening, there are no words for that. You realize you have found the person that loves you just as much as you love them and you are about to start forever together …it is a very rewarding feeling.

The Couple Recommends:

I really loved every vendor we went with. Michelle is an exceptional photographer and exactly what we wanted. Our DJ, Mike kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. We did not meet our maitre D’ Cheryl until the night before the wedding but she was incredible — took care of us from start to finish and made sure everything looked exactly how I envisioned. Hair & makeup made everyone look so beautiful and perfect. Our cake was beautiful AND so delicious. I recommend every vendor we chose; absolutely no regrets. We put a lot of time into making the right choices.

Art Deco Wedding at the Nasher Sculpture Center

April 29, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Art-Deco-Wedding-Nasher-Sculpture-Garden-Nessa-Kessinger (11 of 35)

Michelle and Ryan’s Art Deco wedding encompassed all of the glamour and class of the Jazz Age. The celebration began with an understated ceremony at the Dallas Arboretum followed by an impeccably designed reception at the Nasher Sculpture Center. The black and white motif was subtly complemented with silver and crystal embellishments that elevated the look of the affair without being extravagant. Nessa K Photography captured absolutely irresistible moments between the newlyweds from their first look to their first dance.

The Couple:

Michelle and Ryan

The Wedding:

Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, Texas

The Inspiration:

Our theme evolved but our goal was to showcase who we are together to all the people we love; We love sculptural landscapes, modern architecture, simplicity, the 1920’s, and romantic evenings; so we created an evening of all those things. We chose organic inspired floral elements to complement the venues, lighting to enhance the setting for the evening reception, and Art Deco touches on the paper products. The wedding party attire was 1920’s inspired and matched the elegance of the entire event beautifully.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment was the first look. We were able to relax and joke together after an entire day of preparation and stress. The peace we felt when seeing each other and the excitement we felt for the rest of our lives seemingly culminated in that moment and it was perfect.

The Couple Recommends:

Everyone was amazing. Our planner made our vision a reality and the photographer and the videographer immortalized it. Throughout the process, they listened to us, incorporated our personalities and aesthetics, and gave us memories we will have forever.
