A surprise proposal can be difficult to pull off, so enlisting an exceptional photographer is just as important as remembering the ring! Brent brought along Adibe Photography to capture him popping the question to future-bride Ellie. Thankfully, she said yes, and the surprise proposal turned into a romantic engagement shoot in Washington DC!
Is there any option for a couple who loves travel as much as each other besides a destination wedding? Krista and Christopher are an exciting couple who spent their wedding planning period all across the world. They enlisted the help of master wedding planner Jacqueline Veldkamp of Pauweddings to create their dream wedding in Puglia, Italy via late-night Skype sessions and long email threads. When the couple showed up on their wedding day, every detail they envisioned was perfectly placed so they could focus on saying “I do!” After the romantic and intimate ceremony, Studio Damon captured the most incredible portraits of the newlyweds exploring the natural beauty of Italy.

We wanted a simple, authentic wedding weekend filled with family, friends, laughter, great food and love. So what better place to go than ‘la Bella Italia,’ this meant half the ‘work’ was already done as the lovely environment of our chosen Masseria was the best wedding decor one can wish for and all we really had to do was turn up and look our best and enjoy the party!
The Moments:
Deciding what our favorite moment of the day was is proving to be insanely difficult, this obviously being a good thing as for us it meant the entire day was just perfect. I’d personally loved listening to one of our special songs during the ceremony. I also really enjoyed our first dance, it was just magical and the finale of the night was my husbands dip into the pool, such a happy way to finish one of the best days of our life.

From the moment we got engaged until the day we got married I have only had ‘wedding-stress’ during the 24 hours it took me to find Pauweddings. As soon as I had left a rather desperate inquiry on the website (after all we had left ourselves with one whole day to “organise” our Italian wedding during our quick stopover in the Netherlands) Jacqueline got back to me with great calmness, efficiency and warmth and that’s how it continued to be for the next 6 months. Soft, romantic, and whimsical were the guide words for Lauren and Paul’s elegant wedding, and it’s easy to see that they achieved their goal! The blush and peach color palette is light and summery, which perfectly fit their Manhattan wedding. Charmi Peña Photography captured the carefully planned details throughout the day, but the real star of the event were the incredibly emotional moments the bride and groom will cherish forever in Charmi’s photographs.
The theme for our wedding was soft, romantic, and whimsical. I also wanted to introduce elements of garden and natural. I knew I wanted an outdoor cocktail hour so everything from our fresh-fruit signature wedding cocktail to our main courses were on the natural side.
The reception venue had some farm-to-table ingredients from their on-site greenhouse and farm and I wanted everything from the cake to my bouquet to be soft, romantic and natural. The cake was strawberry shortcake, with fresh berries and brushed, buttercream topped with fresh blush and peach garden roses.

It is SO hard to choose a favorite moment from the wedding! I could provide a list!
After the church ceremony, the bridal party walked over to Washington Square Park for a few pictures. It was a bride, a groom, 8 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen casually walking through the streets of Manhattan and to one of the busiest parks. We gathered to take pictures by the famous archway and just as we were all settled in position a bee started flying around in our bouquets! Everyone was swatting the bee away and laughing hysterically. You can see it in the pictures. It made for some priceless photographs and and we think the onlookers were entertained!

Her floral arrangements were on point and I loved the Crystal candelabras! Nathan and Chris at Retouch Relive Videography are so professional and capture the day beautifully without getting in the way. They are fun and funny too! Charmi Peña Photography is so laid back and talented. She is very assertive which is something that brides need that day! She’s great working with a huge group and she will get every shot you need, and then some! Her husband is the second shooter and he is trained by her, so, naturally, this lovely married couple complements each other to take super romantic and touching photos. Shannon designed our ceremony programs and seating chart framed poster which we currently have hanging in our home! Face The Day my airbrushed makeup for a hot NY summer that looks flawless and natural! Zuleika on hair nailed my hairdo within 20 minutes on the trial and it was flawless on my wedding day.
