Katie and Joe’s wedding is one that just keeps getting better the more you see of it. The celebration took place at the magnificent Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England where the great hall was filled from floor to ceiling with candlelight. Sansom Photography brilliantly captured the utter beauty of the illuminated ceremony, from each silver and ivory detail to the couple’s emotional vows.

The Inspiration:

As we only booked our wedding 6 months before the wedding date (despite being engaged 3 years) we had to make quick decisions, so never had too much time to think of the theme for the wedding. We wanted to achieve a wedding that was personal to us so we printed lots if photographs of ourselves and parents / granddad parents wedding day and had these places around the venue. We also wanted a wedding that was both intimate and romantic but natural; so a lot of candles and flowers where used as our décor. The décor was to be elegant, simple yet effective so white/ Ivory, grey and silver was our colour scheme.

The Moments:

The most special part of our day for both of us was the ceremony, after all that is the whole reason for the day, to announce in front of our loving family and friends our love for each other . It felt that we were the only ones in the room – it was perfect. We were also thrilled with the confetti that we had on the new years countdown – it was beautiful and started the new year with a sparkle and a bang.
