Modern Vintage Vancouver Wedding

June 23, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Inspired by Downton Abbey and an autumnal color palette, Stephanie and Ricardo’s wedding found the vintage modern sweet spot they envisioned. The couple were married at Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar where Best Day Ever Creative transformed the venue into an industrial setting into a glamorous display of deep reds, lush greenery, and antique gold. Dallas Kolotylo Photography brilliantly captured each detail and every romantic moment that made Stephanie and Ricardo’s day so special.

The Couple:

Stephanie and Ricardo

The Wedding:

Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar, Vancouver, British Columbia

The Inspiration:

Our inspiration for our wedding started off with our favourite season – Fall. The leaves changing colours and the nature surrounding the season inspired us to choose our colour scheme. As an obsessed crazed fan of Downton Abbey, we used the vintage feel to inspire the décor, with a new-age twist. We wanted to capture the elegance and gracefulness of those times with hints of modern touches.

The Moments:

My favourite moment was walking down the aisle and seeing Ricardo for the first time. The room was full of people but all I could see was him smiling back at me, the room felt empty and that specific moment was surreal.

The Couple Recommends:

Dallas and Sabrina are outstanding to work with, they were so open to ideas and truly professionals. They were such troopers the whole day and night, had smiles on their faces at every instance and it was a pleasure to have them work our wedding. But honestly every vendor we worked with was superb and knew exactly what they were doing. I wouldn’t change a thing about how our wedding it was absolutely perfect.

After an energetic and full wedding day, a post-wedding shoot can be the perfect way to spend time alone for the first time waking up as newlyweds. Paola and Rodrigo set out into the ruins of San Juan Parangaricutiro Church in Mexico with photographer Jorge Kick who captured a dramatic and romantic post-wedding session in the rubble.

Sophisticated Destination Wedding at Porta Hotel Antigua

June 23, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Sophisticated-Destination-Wedding-Porta-Hotel-Antigua-Daniel-Diaz (21 of 29)

When you pair one of the most incredible destinations in the world with a couple of the most talented photographers in the world, the results are bound to be stunning. Andrea and Andrew traveled to Guatemala for their sophisticated wedding at Porta Hotel Antigua. The entire celebration was captured by Daniel Diaz and Dave Paek, whose images display the extraordinary beauty of Antigua and the exceptional love shared by Andrea and Andrew.

The Couple:

Andrea and Andrew

The Wedding:

Porta Hotel Antigua, Antigua, Guatemala

The Inspiration:

We wanted to make things classy, sophisticated, yet breathtaking. The city of Antigua, Guatemala is so beautiful that it’s hard to design anything that can rival it. We decided that as abnormal as it was for us to take a step back and explain what words we would use to describe the wedding, give some color ideas, and let the experts be experts. There were some humps along the way, but our wedding planners, decorators, DJ, hotel and our incredible Photographers delivered an amazing wedding. We honestly needed up doing everything for our guests. We wanted everyone from both Guatemala, and the US to be blown away and so caught up in the wedding that the experience would be more than worth the trip.

The Moments:

Our favorite part by far was the first look. It’s where our emotions got the best of us and we both just lost it. We forgot about the pressures of our own vows, the timing, the people, etc and just got to love each other in that moment. A close second would be the last hour of the reception where everyone let loose did a few shots, danced, laughed, and had a great time together. It also signified the pressures of planning a destination wedding were officially over, and we were officially married!

The Couple Recommends:

I can’t say enough about our photographers! Daniel and Dave were exceptional, with incredible eyes, and caught every moment for 3 days. I think the pictures speak for themselves. You want the best, hire Daniel Diaz and Dave Paek, the best investment we made hands down!
