Anna and Samuel’s romantic Washington DC wedding focused on their love, first and foremost. Pollyanna Events designed a ceremony in Clyde’s of Gallery Place full of flowers and delicate details that offset the dark wood of the room, making for an utterly gorgeous and heartfelt setting where the couple could exchange their vows among family and friends. From inviting their favorite pastor to officiate to giving their favorite Georgetown Cupcake treats as favors, every inch of Anna and Samuel’s day highlighted the best parts about their relationship as they began the next chapter of their lives together.

The Inspiration:

We wanted our wedding to be about love, so everything we chose were things we both loved. From the Georgetown Cupcake favors to having our friend, Leah, sing during our first dance, it was all about the people we love and the things we love about DC. We wanted our family and friends to completely enjoy themselves and help us celebrate. Our officiant was Pastor Chip Grammer, who was our pastor at the church in Fort Bragg, NC where we first met.

The Moments:

Anna: When we were exchanging rings, Sam pulled out a different ring and I didn’t realize it initially, but then he was struggling to put the ring on my finger. The ring was too small and wouldn’t go on my finger, so I started laughing hysterically because it’s exactly like Sam to want to surprise me but something goes wrong. The shock on his face was priceless — he’s so cute.

Sam: It was when Pastor Chip announced that we were married and he said that “you may now kiss the bride.” I was so happy to be married to the woman I love.

The Couple Recommends:

We loved working with Ashlee- our “ninja photographer.” She managed to capture all of our special moments while staying out of the moment itself. She absolutely loves what she does and it shows. She’s a lot of fun and we ended the night with a selfie with her.
