Nautical Elopement Inspiration from Zurich

From Cape Cod to the Amalfi Coast, nautical elopements are on the rise. This gorgeous styled session in Zurich is all the inspiration we need to pack up our boat shoes and head to the sea for an intimate celebration. We love that event designer Nina Pupikofer of NIMM Platz stayed away from the typical blue and white motif, and opted instead for burgundy, champagne, and blue in rich fabrics and textures. Photographer Fräulein Zuckerwatte captured the light and airy beauty of a waterfront wedding, as well as the irresistibly romantic details.

Utterly Glamorous French Garden Wedding

July 6, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Utterly-Glamorous-French-Garden-Wedding-Claire-Penn-Photography (18 of 28)

A provocative Galia Lahav wedding gown and an aubergine velvet set a glamorous precedent for Ashley and Greg’s French garden wedding. The pair were married in an intimate outdoor ceremony, while a stunning chateau, charmingly called The Secret Garden, was decorated to the nines by Marry Me in France for their elegant reception. Claire Penn Photography masterfully captured the chic style and candid moments that made Ashley and Greg’s wedding utterly unique.

The Couple:

Ashley and Greg

The Wedding:

The Secret Garden, Dordogne, France

The Inspiration:

I wanted my wedding day to feel romantic, chic, and elegant so I chose softer pinks, lavender with gold accents to accomplish that. I added a gold sequin table runner to give a pop of flare to the table settings. After trying on six beautiful Galia Lahav dresses I chose mine because of the beautiful lace details and the long train. I had visions of how beautiful it would look going down one of the many cascading staircases!

The Moments:

My favorite moment was when I saw my husband to be for the first time. When I saw him he looked so handsome and happy and when he saw me it looked like he had lost his breath. I will never forget that moment as long as I live.

The Couple Recommends:

Every one we worked with was wonderful! Beth Stretton was amazing at helping find every single detail that I asked for. The gold plateware proved to be harder to find than I thought but Beth tracked down exactly what I was looking for! She really helped bring my vision to life and set everything up so beautifully I knew I had nothing to worry about! Thanks to her I had no stress that day and I’m so thankful for that.

Claire was such a joy to work with! We all felt so comfortable around her right away and I know our pictures reflect that. She did an amazing job capturing all the joy and happiness we felt on our wedding day. And I loved her attention to detail not only with the shots of me and my dress but she took beautiful photos of the flowers and table settings. That’s something I wouldn’t have thought of and I’m so glad she did!

Zen Film Works were just incredible. They captured moments I didn’t even remember and every time I watch the wedding video (which is more times than I should admit) it brings me to tears.

I truly relive the day over and over and it’s beautiful. We could not be more thankful to have worked with all of them. They helped make our wedding a day we will never forget!

Pink and Green Lithuanian Wedding

July 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Pink-and-Green-Lithuanian-Wedding (21 of 36)

Even from a young age, Toma and Andrius knew they would end up together. They were childhood friends who met in their hometown of Lazdijai, Lithuania and soon found that they wanted to be more than just friends. Years later, Toma and Andrius started planning their rustic, Lithuanian wedding. Using bales of hay for seating and hanging signs on the weathered wood siding of the bride’s childhood home, this casual wedding felt homemade and genuine. Designer Bruknes Dizainas created the perfect wedding day for this sweet couple. Capturing touching moments of the newly married couple, photographer Maži Stebuklai used her expertise to shoot amazing photos at the beach!

The Couple:

Toma and Andrius

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Lazdijai, Lithuania

The Inspiration:

After one year into our relationship, we started to talk about how we imagine our wedding day. And, we both agreed that we should design it with a rustic style. After Andrius proposed, the idea of our wedding became clear. We have our own farmstead, and we wouldn’t find a better place than it for our wedding. Five kilometers from our farmstead is a church. There is a beautiful lake. Our wedding was just like we wanted.

The Moments:

Our favorite moment from the wedding was the ceremony at the church. It was the first time when everybody, our friends and family, came together. It felt like there was some magic in the air. Andrius and I just smiled and felt so happy.
