Joanna and Jared’s outdoor wedding at The Water Conservation Garden in San Diego, California was filled with beautiful bright-red, pink, and ivory florals. Wishing to design the ultimate romantic garden reception, the couple covered the tables in lush greenery and strung cafe lights to dimly light the enchanting evening. The Inspiration:
We wanted something simple and fun. We both enjoy the outdoors so an outdoor wedding was a given. We just wanted to create a relaxed environment not only for our guests but for us too. We got married at the Water Conservation garden in San Diego and had our reception, cocktail hour, and ceremony in different parts of the garden. I think that added to the fun and adventure of the day.
The Moments:
My favorite parts were anything that my friends and family were involved in. It meant a lot to us to have our community of friends and family participate in different parts of our wedding. My dad made our wedding arch and floral chandelier, my mom and aunt made the bouquets, my friends each brought a different part of communion (a different friend brought the table cloth, the wine and baked the bread, selected the song that played), our friends dj’d, my sister made the cakes, and my friends brought the different desserts.
The Couple Recommends:
Have fun and don’t worry so much about the details. We did the wedding on a budget and it was perfect. I hear brides all the time tell me that it’s all about the details. Well, I didn’t notice the details on the day. What meant the most was all the people that showed up and helped make it the best day ever.
Jasmine was one of our few vendors. She was the best! I would definitely recommend her. She was so much fun and made us feel like rock stars on our special day!
