Choosing a coastal town in Connecticut for their bright wedding, Charlie and Emily were determined to combine their love for water with their love for vineyards. Blush and ivory florals kept a fresh look to this waterfront wedding. We love how the Jonathan Edwards Winery created a secluded oasis for the couple to tie the knot. Gold accents, along with the bride’s laced mantilla, added a vintage feel to the wedding design. Melani Lust Photography expertly photographed the amazing moments at this sweet vineyard wedding.

Jonathan Edwards Winery, North Stonington, Connecticut

The Inspiration:

We both love being by the water and visiting vineyards, so it was important to “marry” the two places for our big day. We fell in love with the coastal town of Mystic, CT and located our nearest favorite vineyard, Jonathan Edwards Winery, for the reception. We chose St. Patrick’s Catholic Church because of its intimate “little white chapel” feel. The theme I was going for was a soft, romantic vineyard wedding. I knew I wanted to work with a gold and blush palette, and didn’t add in the mint color until I had picked out the bridesmaids dresses.

The Moments:

Charlie and I knew we wanted to do a first look before our ceremony to calm our nerves and get one final kiss in before we became husband and wife. My mother drove up to Mystic every weekend to scout the perfect location for a first look, and settled on an amazing private property with a lighthouse that had open access to the water. I will never forget my cathedral veil flowing in the wind as I walked past the lighthouse toward Charlie, smelling the salt water in the air, and seeing the groomsmen standing on the coastal boulders trying to get a closer look.
