A charming historic venue, pastel botanical elements, and the prettiest shade of blue-gray are just a few things we love about Rachel and Steve’s free-spirited Irish wedding. The couple enlisted Alise Taggart to style their celebration with welcoming and relaxed details, and the resulting look manages to be subtly bohemian while perfectly reflecting Rachel and Steve’s relationship. Epic Love Photography captured the sweetest moments between the newlyweds at The Millhouse, from ceremony bliss to utter cheer after saying “I do!”

The Inspiration:

We wanted our wedding to be very natural and free and just reflect us a couple. It was really important to us that everyone felt welcome and relaxed and could enjoy themselves the whole day. Inspiration came from lots of things including our venue, The Millhouse, which is such a magical place with a lot of history in the buildings both The Mill itself and the house, not to mention the magical people who work there and truly made our wedding the amazing day that it was.

Steve designed our invitations and other stationery for the day and family helped us with sign making and some of the decoration which really meant a lot to us and made it very personal. Alise Taggart was our wonderful event stylist who turned our ideas into reality and better. Alise made The Mill where we had our ceremony so beautiful, with an amazing backdrop of eucalyptus, gold dipped feathers and candles everywhere. The pavilion where we had our wedding dinner was decorated with dusky blue muslin cloths on the tables, tons of tiny bottles and gold jars filled with candles and the most gorgeous flowers by Floral Earth. 

The Moments:

Not so much a moment but something that meant a lot to us was the wedding ceremony, our celebrant Bernie helped us to create a ceremony that was personal to us and we are so grateful to have met her and have her there to marry us.

Music was another really big part of our day and both our band Gypsy Rebel Rabble and DJ Aidan Kavanagh brought an unbelievable day to a perfect end. Can’t praise all those guys enough for their amazing talent, they gave us the best wedding party we could have asked for!

We just loved every moment of the whole day from the beginning to the end but what made us smile the most was the love and the happiness that surrounded us from all our friends and family. Everyone made our day so incredibly special and we really did have the best day of our lives.

All of the people we worked with on the wedding where unbelievable and helped us achieve all that we wanted and more, even with the short time frame that we had. Rob our photographer from Epic Love Photography was one of those people who we are so thankful to for firstly making us feel at ease right away and for being as passionate about our wedding as we were. He really captured us, our family and friends and the whole day so beautifully and so honestly and we couldn’t be happier with the irreplaceable images that he has gave us.

Paul from Hatch Wedding Films also cannot go without a mention here, Paul was so discreet on the day that some of our guests did not even know we had a videographer, not only was Paul a great guy to work with but the film that he created for us is something that we will treasure forever. We hadn’t thought about having a video at the start but we have since realised how important it is to have the day documented in this way, we can’t describe how much we love our film and how grateful we are to Paul for all that he did.
