Woodland Glam Cuyahoga Valley National Park Wedding

Everything about Andi and Ben’s Cuyahoga Valley National Park wedding was a reflection of their relationship, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. From choosing a wedding spot close to their hearts to writing their own ceremony (and promising to go to the zoo together once a year!), the wedding was a true celebration of their love. Friends and family contributed to the day in big ways and small: collecting vintage glasses, building the ceremony set-up, and even performing music throughout the wedding. Photographers Mallory + Justin brilliantly captured all of the sweet moments and handpicked details that came together to make Andi and Ben’s wedding a reality.

The first look was amazing. Even though we had seen each other in the morning and right before getting dressed, we were both full of anxious jitters as the time got closer. When we finally got to see each other in our wedding day duds, all the stress, worry, and anxiety melted away and we were able to relax and enjoy every part of the day.

I had fallen in love with the necklace and bought it on a whim way before I had the dress. Then I saw the dress and was so pleased it worked with the necklace. Other than that, I wanted to stay pretty laid back.

Our Maid of Honor, Best Man, and family members entered to an acoustic guitar version of “Til There Was You.” My dad I walked down the aisle to an acoustic guitar version of the Jurassic Park theme (my favorite movie), and we recessed to an acoustic version of “Kiss to Build a Dream on.” The ceremony music was played by my college friend Adam Day, who is a musician in Austin. Our first dance was Louis Armstrong’s version of “La Vie En Rose,” played live by our wonderful band.

We got married under a 300 year old oak tree on Ben‘s parents property. It is his favorite tree and an important part of his childhood. When we first got engaged we both assumed we’d get married under the “Mighty Oak” (that is the tree’s name), it wasn’t even a question.

We wrote out our whole ceremony ourselves and wrote our vows together. We wanted our vows to be unique to our relationship. The last line of our vows we promised each other to go to the zoo together every year (that was our first date that we have celebrated every year since the first one. We’ve been on 7 zoo dates already!). We also had our good friend become ordained so that someone we loved could marry us instead of a stranger.

Our photographers, Mallory and Justin, were so much fun to work with. They were so good at wrangling us and all of our friends, and made us laugh all day. After working with them, we wanted to be “real-life” friends with them. In addition to being amazing to work with, every picture they took was fabulous and beautiful.

Blush and Beige Oklahoma Wedding

January 10, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

Blush-and-Beige-Oklahoma-Wedding (39 of 40)

For Amy and Wes, the most important aspect of their wedding was for it to be personal and intentional. Choosing a neutral palette, Amy’s bridesmaids wore different shades of blush, ivory, and beige. Their venue, a family member’s farm in Luther, OK, was full of trees and greenery, so the neutrals were a lovely compliment to the scenery. We absolutely love that the couple included a family dessert table, which offered homemade specialty treats. Melissa Green Photography perfectly told the wedding story through photographs.

From the couple: The most memorable moment was the first look. We wanted to have a private moment together before the ceremony. There was so much anticipation, nerves, and excitement leading up to that moment and when we finally saw each other for the first time, we were overcome with emotion. We cried, and laughed, and held each other. It was definitely one of the most memorable moments for sure.

From the bride: My bridesmaids DIY’d my guestbook and display with all our engagement pictures. I bought a brown paper journal from Barnes & Noble and had one of my bridesmaids customize the front with our name and wedding date in handwritten script. We had people take polaroids of themselves and paste them in the guestbook. It was so much fun to go back and look at all the photos. The girls displayed our engagement pictures behind the guestbook on an old door. They ran twine across the door and taped our engagement photos to the twine. It made for an awesome display for the guestbook table.

From the bride: I walked down the aisle to a recording of Wes singing and playing “The Wine We Drink” by Drew & Ellie Holcomb. Our recessional song was “Love on Top” by Beyonce, naturally. Our first dance song was “Turning Page” by Sleeping At Last.

Advice from the bride: Wedding planning does not have to be stressful. Choose to be intentional about the details that really matter most to you, that reflect you as a couple, and let the rest be what they are. For instance, I have no clue what color my napkins were at my wedding. But I vividly remember tasting my MeMa’s pound cake from our family desert table. It’s the details that are the most personal that matter most. Your wedding day only happens once and the only thing that truly matters that day is that you are marrying your best friend. Be present in every moment, and ENJOY it.

Effortless and Natural Wedding at Milagro Farms

Mesa and Graham wanted their personal style to show through in their wedding design. The bride loves natural landscapes and greenery, so it was a big part of the décor. Milagro Farms in Texas offered the perfect rustic space in the countryside for their casual and elegant wedding. Talented photographer Elisabeth Carol captured the sweetest moments of the couple enjoying their wedding day.

From the bride: My favorite moment from our wedding day is walking down the aisle with my dad. I was nervous beforehand but once I grabbed his arm and saw all my friends and family gathered together all my apprehensions melted away. And when I looked at Graham I was overwhelmed with joy and complete contentment. This was an incredibly special moment that I will never forget!

Advice from the bride: I think the most important thing for brides to do is delegate! Most us have such a specific vision for our wedding day that we refuse to let others lend a hand. It is important to have clear wants but it is also extremely helpful to let willing friends and family handle smaller details. It will eliminate so much stress in the long run!
