Noora and Kalle’s wedding in Finland at Villa Svalvik was a testament to the magnificent beauty born out of simplicity. The two most important things for the couple were the promises they were making to each other and that their guests to felt at home. So, immediately after the first look, in the privacy of the forest, Noora and Kalle exchanged vows accompanied only by photographer Patrick Karkkolainen, who beautifully captured the passion of those first intimate moments. The bride looked effortlessly chic in a lace-back Pukuni crop top and silk skirt and romantic braided updo adorned with leaves. For their guests, the couple used the natural romance of the waterfront setting and incorporated second-hand and DIY items to create a simple, slightly bohemian vibe, perfect for relaxing and celebrating a day of love.

The most memorable moment of the day was definitely when we told vows to each other in the woods before the ceremony. It really felt like all the pressure fell off of our shoulders at that moment. The photography session took about an hour and a half, and we’re really glad we did it beforehand. Then we got to walk down the aisle together, hand in hand, and felt more safe and sure than ever.
We personalized our ceremony with an old Afghan rug from home, and a friend made a wooden sign with our names on it. The view to the archipelago was a perfect backdrop, nothing more was needed.
We wanted to avoid excess consumption and buying, so we bought most of the decorations second hand. We chose a small and intimate venue to make sure everyone felt at home and could enjoy the day without feeling too fancy.
I got my dress from Pukuni, a Finnish wedding dress designer. I wanted a dress that is not too conventional and reflects my style, and this is definitely a unique piece. I still get so many compliments that I’m completely overwhelmed by it! The dress was absolutely a dream come true. I didn’t really plan a style. I just went with my instinct and gladly everything fit perfectly together. As for my makeup and hair, I went for an easy bohemian style with summer glow. And I never party without red lipstick!
We DIYed so many things! My Maids of Honour helped me out a lot in this. We sewed the tablecloths, made all the stationary and invitations, flower arrangements, mason jars for drinks, and photo hangers. We did not use a wedding planner as we enjoyed making stuff ourselves so much.

The whole day was beyond our wildest dreams. Our friends and family had prepared so many speeches and special programmes for us, it blew our minds. We still cannot believe all the effort and emotions from that day.
