September 30, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

Metallic accents, geometric shapes, and botanical vibes are some of our favorite current wedding trends, so this dazzling styled shoot really hits the spot! Shuttergram Portraits captured Maddie and Sam’s gorgeous Salt Lake City elopement shoot in front of some spectacular mountains and let the seriously fab table décor and bridal style speak for themselves. We think the naked geode cake with a crystal-shaped terrarium on top is one of our favorite trend combinations we’ve seen lately!

Charming PNW Wedding at Anderson Lodge

September 30, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

charming-pnw-wedding-anderson-lodge-33

From their venue’s natural mountain backdrop to their fresh, ethereal décor, Kayla and Zach’s Anderson Lodge is full to the brim with cool Pacific Northwest vibes! Guests were treated to an emotional ceremony with some of the best views in Washington, then celebrated the newlyweds at a reception with s’mores favors, a hand-painted photo booth, and a fresh popcorn bar. Kayla wore a custom gown from Cocoon Silk with stunning crochet detail which lent her a perfectly boho bridal look. Photographer From The Daisies captured every moment of this couple’s day beautifully, including some killer couple portraits in the PNW woods!

The Couple:

Kayla and Zach

The Wedding:

Anderson Lodge, Ariel, Washington

We chose our wedding vibe off of our personalities. We both were born and raised in the PNW so we wanted to embrace that and chose an outdoor venue surrounded by evergreen trees and views of the hills and mountains we grew up by. I even designed my own dress to match my personality. The whole day just felt like “us.”

I had my grandpa drive me in his classic car up to the aisle and then had my dad open the door and walk me down the aisle. Also the groom didn’t see me that whole day until I walked down the aisle, so that moment was super special.

Our photographers were to die for. Sweetest people to work with and beyond creative. They went above and beyond finding hidden locations to take pictures! They captured our day perfectly and now we get to keep these captured memories for the rest of our lives to look back on and relive that day over and over again.

Our advice: start early and keep good communication with your vendors. Unfortunately friends and family are going to be upset about someone one way or another. So do what your heart tells you and don’t worry about others.

We’re Head Over Heels for These 22 Hanging Reception Decor Ideas

September 29, 2016 | Junebug Weddings

hanging-reception-decor-ideas

In a great venue, your reception décor can take on a life of its own, transforming the space from ceiling to floor with a design that embodies your love. Well-rounded reception designs really bring the wow factor by creating an atmosphere that guests can take in from every angle. While we’ve shared plenty of table décor and even signage inspiration lately, we’re kicking it up a notch with these hanging reception décor ideas to help you go beyond the bunting. Your guests are sure to be starstruck when they walk in and see these dangling beauties!

Reclaimed Wood with Suspended Florals

If DIY projects are your favorite weekend pastime, this suspended statement is for you! Stringing flowers or foliage through found lattices, wooden palettes, or even crates is a great way to create visual interest above your party while also making the ceiling look higher than it is!

Origami and Geometric Paper Shapes

Add a burst of color and a modern touch to your reception with folded or cut paper shapes hanging from the ceiling. There’s nothing more one-of-a-kind than something you make yourself, and this DIY décor shows off your personal style unlike any other. For beginner crafters, a mobile of cut paper is easy to achieve. For more advanced makers, try 3D geometric shapes!

Floral Chandeliers and Halos of Greenery

If your venue has a lot of room to fill, both in depth and height, floral chandeliers and halos of greenery are a great way to make use of your space! The key to this design element is determining the best distance between structures: do you prefer one large piece over each table or several smaller clusters throughout the room?

Glass Globes with Candles or Air Plants

If suspended flowers and dangling colors would be overwhelming for your venue aesthetic, glass globes are the sophisticated answer to your hanging needs. Electric candles sparkle against the glass for an elegant look, while air plants are a modern choice with a natural touch.
