You’d Never Guess This Boho Desert Wedding Inspiration Took Place in Australia

Our love for the desert and bohemian style has no limit, so when you put those together we get stoked! Throw in some pink smoke bombs and then you get some pure magic. This boho desert wedding inspiration planned and photographed by Immerse Photography has us ooh-ing and ahh-ing over just about everything in this styled shoot. From the perfect warm color palette, name places done by Calligraphy by Moya, and all the cactus at Cactus Country, we have a hard time deciding what our favorite part is from this shoot. For a little more insight into the inspiration behind the shoot, here are a few words from Immerse Photography:

After travelling to Las Vegas last August to photograph a wedding, I fell in love with the desert. I returned earlier this year and spent a few days in Joshua Tree and just had this amazing desire to put together a styled shoot back here in Oz with the same feeling and style. After hunting around, I found Cactus Country and set about putting together a group of creatives who I love working with. I used a real couple to get the intimacy and feeling in the shoot that I required. Ine is actually a photographer from Norway who has been assisting me whilst out here studying and they are getting married next year back in Norway. She was more than happy to come onboard. I really wanted a romantic, elegant shoot with real connection. I think we got this.

This Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Wedding is Beautifully Influenced by Spanish Culture

Alex and Emilio’s Vizcaya Museum and Gardens wedding was both elegant and relaxed. Taking inspiration from the gorgeous architecture, there was Spanish influence in choosing to stick to a natural color palette and using minimal decor. Adriana Cadet of The Creative’s Loft truly out did herself with putting together this intimate wedding and blending two cultures together. Alex and Emilio looked dapper as ever in their Brackish Bow Ties apparel, and Pablo Laguia Wedding Photography captured all the joyful tears and moments through out the day.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami, Florida

One piece of advice someone told us when we first were engaged was, “enjoy every moment of the planning, the wedding is just a few hours long.” Emilio and I tried to make the wedding planning something fun and exciting. It was something that we looked forward to do doing every night when we got home from work. We even took a trip to Miami a few months ahead of our wedding to meet all of our vendors and make some final decisions. We both remember this moment when all our ideas and hard work became a reality.

Our wedding planner, Adriana Cadet, played a really important part in helping us create our wedding. Adriana took the time to understand what we were trying to achieve with the wedding and paid special attention to the intercultural aspects of our wedding. She also helped us through a lot of the decision making process, making the wedding planning something fun and enjoyable.

We loved working with Pablo Laguia. He was very professional and made us feel relaxed throughout the entire day. He was able to capture the essence of our marriage in his work.

The most memorable part of our wedding was the ceremony. We had a small and intimate ceremony with our family and friends standing next to us. We could feel the emotion and joy of our guests, who were just an arms reach away. The ceremony was also an important moment for us to unite both of our families. We did this by conducting the entire ceremony bilingually, with speeches and vows done in our native languages.

The most important part of planning our wedding was finding the right venue. We wanted a venue that embodied a piece of each of our cultures. Emilio is originally from Spain and I’m from the United States. Vizcaya, with its European decor and location in Miami, Florida, represented this mix of cultures we wanted to express in our wedding.

Since Vizcaya Museum is such an elegant and beautiful venue, Emilio and I wanted to keep our wedding decor simple and elegant. We chose small green flowers, rustic wood furniture, and natural colors. Vizcaya is so majestic, we wanted the venue to speak for itself.

After cutting the cake, we went right into our first dance. We asked Alex‘s best friend, Rogelio, to surprise our guests by singing the first dance. Everybody loved the surprise!

Laid-Back Country Wedding at Cambium Farms in Caledon, Ontario

Dreaming of a magical barn venue, Jennifer and Andrew booked Cambium Farms, sight unseen, all the way from the UK. The rustic, authentic farm was the perfect setting for their laid-back, country celebration with a heavy British influence and DIY details. A color palette of pastel pinks, blues, and greens complimented the rural surroundings and wild floral design by Cedar and Stone, featuring sprigs of baby’s breath and purple-toned thistles. From the Snaptique photo booth airstream trailer to the DIY’d wooden name cards, centerpieces, and fabulous repurposed vintage suitcase, no detail was too small when this creative couple was planning their big day. New Vintage Media captured an amazing catalogue of this sweet couple looking happy, relaxed and natural, even when posing with whimsical gold balloons.

Cambium Farms, Ontario, Canada

My wedding dress was designed by London designer Charlie Brear. What I loved most is that all the peices were separates that I put together myself so that it was partly my own creation. I absolutely loved my metallic belt and the bohemian style of my dress. I wanted my bridal party to also feel comfortable so I chose the beautiful two pieces from BHLDN in different pastel tones with lace crop tops. 

We both really wanted our wedding to have a laid back country vibe. It was important to us that our guests coming from near and far would enjoy a very casual and fun day!

There were so many great moments we will forever cherish but we both agree the moment we saw each other for the first time amongst all of our guests was something we will both never forget. We both wrote our own vows which was something that a lot of people later told us either brought a tear to their eye or made them laugh but was either way very memorable.

We would say some great advice we received that we found very valuable the day of was to make a list of all the people you want photos with. Also, all the back drops/photogenic areas of your venue you want during your photoshoot. We say this because on the day you will forget everything! Also in hind sight we would have started our photos away from the guests as you literally get mobbed afterwards and its hard to get going!

It was great and really easy. We really wanted casual photos and not many staged. We wanted the moments captured and we feel like John really understood what we wanted and gave us an amazing library of our wedding day.

I still cant believe how much! We did everything from personalized name cards cut from wooden logs to handmade flower boxes as centre pieces. The table seating on the wire grid in the carriage house, handmade British bunting, A repurposed vintage suitcase from the UK. Even the invitation was a drawing Andrew the groom did of the venue. The maid of honour made the flower girl head piece. There is still so much more!

We were looking for a barn and came across Cambium Farms but we were living in the UK so Jennifer‘s parents and sister went and loved it so we trusted their opinion and booked! funny enough it was 5 mins from my sister’s house and she didn’t even know it! To say the least it was the best decision as it is such a magical venue.
